Congress of the Philosophy Branch of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, for the term 2026-2030

On the morning of October 4, 2025, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), the Philosophy Branch of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities solemnly held its General Assembly for the 2026-2030 term. The Assembly took place in a democratic atmosphere, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the members towards the development of research, teaching, application, and dissemination of philosophy in the new context.
The Congress was attended by a large number of members, including lecturers and scientists working at the Faculty of Philosophy and the Department of Religious Studies (now part of the Faculty of Anthropology and Religious Studies), as well as students of the Faculty of Philosophy. The Congress was honored to welcome Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Tai, representing the Vietnam Philosophical Society, who attended and delivered a welcoming speech.
The Congress heard the Report on the Branch's activities during the 2022-2025 period and the Branch's work plan for the 2026-2030 term, presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Branch Chairman for the 2022-2025 term. The report affirmed that, despite facing numerous difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and fluctuations in training activities, the Branch successfully completed its political and professional tasks, fulfilling its role as an academic organization closely linked to the development of the Faculty of Philosophy and the University.
Members of the Chapter have undertaken a large teaching workload for the entire Vietnam National University system, actively participated in textbook compilation, published scientific research works domestically and internationally, and coordinated the organization of many prestigious academic conferences. In particular, the Chapter played a core role in advising and successfully organizing the 2024 Vietnam Philosophy Olympiad, an academic and social activity with a wide-ranging impact, attracting a large number of students and contributing to raising awareness and igniting a passion for philosophy among young people.
In addition to professional activities, the Association actively participates in social movements and charitable work, caring for the lives of its members, while building a united and humane working environment, contributing to the cultivation of political qualities and professional ethics for the teaching staff.
During the discussion, delegates offered many insightful ideas on reforming the branch's activities, promoting international publications, expanding research cooperation, and regularly organizing thematic seminars to enhance academic exchange and spread the value of philosophy in social life.
The General Assembly proceeded to elect the Executive Committee of the Branch Association for the term 2026-2030. As a result, five comrades were elected to the Executive Committee, including: Dr. Ngo Dang Toan - Branch Association President, Dr. Pham Hoang Giang - Branch Association Vice President, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Hao, Dr. Cao Nguyen, and Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu - Members.
The Executive Committee of the Branch Association for the term 2026-2030 was introduced at the congress.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Ngo Dang Toan affirmed that the new term will be a period in which the Chapter continues to inherit and build upon the achievements already made, while also promoting professional activities, linking research with practice, expanding domestic and international cooperation, and actively contributing to the overall development of the Vietnam Philosophy Association and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The Congress of the Philosophy Chapter of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, for the term 2026-2030 concluded successfully, leaving a deep impression of the solidarity, intellect, and responsibility of the members. With the motto "Innovation - Connection - Development," the Chapter continues to affirm its pioneering role in research, teaching, and spreading the profound humanistic values ​​of philosophy in contemporary social life.
