The Congress was attended by a large number of members who are lecturers and scientists working at the Faculty of Philosophy and the Department of Religious Studies (now part of the Faculty of Anthropology and Religious Studies) and students of the Faculty of Philosophy. The Congress was honored to welcome Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Tai, representing the Vietnam Philosophical Association, to attend and deliver a welcome speech.
The Congress listened to the Report on the activities of the Association for the period 2022 - 2025 and the direction of the Association's work for the term 2026 - 2030 presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Association for the term 2022 - 2025. The report affirmed that during the past term, despite facing many difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and fluctuations in training activities, the Association still fulfilled its political and professional tasks well, promoting its role as an academic organization closely associated with the development of the Faculty of Philosophy and the University.
The members of the Association have undertaken a large teaching load for the entire VNU system, actively participated in compiling textbooks, publishing domestic and international scientific research works, and coordinated the organization of many prestigious academic conferences. In particular, the Association has played a pivotal role in advising and successfully organizing the 2024 Vietnam Philosophy Olympiad, an academic and social activity with a wide influence, attracting a large number of students to participate, contributing to raising awareness and arousing passion for philosophy among young people.
In addition to professional activities, the Association also actively participates in social movements, volunteer work, takes care of members' lives, and at the same time builds a united and humane working environment, contributing to fostering political qualities and professional ethics for the teaching staff.
During the discussion, delegates expressed many enthusiastic opinions on innovating the Association's activities, promoting international publications, expanding research cooperation, and regularly organizing specialized seminars to enhance academic exchanges and spread the value of philosophy in social life.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Association for the 2026 - 2030 term. As a result, 5 comrades were elected to the Executive Committee, including: Dr. Ngo Dang Toan - Branch President, Dr. Pham Hoang Giang - Branch Vice President, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Hao, Dr. Cao Nguyen, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu - Members.
The Executive Committee of the Association for the 2026 - 2030 term was introduced to the congress.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Ngo Dang Toan affirmed that the new term will be the period when the Association continues to inherit and promote the achievements it has made, while promoting professional activities, linking research with practice, expanding domestic and international cooperation, and actively contributing to the common development of the Vietnam Philosophy Association and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The Congress of the Philosophy Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, for the term 2026 - 2030 ended successfully, leaving a deep impression on the spirit of solidarity, intelligence and responsibility of the members. With the motto "Innovation - Connection - Development", the Association continues to affirm its pioneering role in researching, teaching and spreading the profound humanistic values of philosophy in today's social life.
