Scientific conference "Nghe An - 990 years of formation and development"

This is a meaningful activity in a series of events leading up to the 990th Anniversary of Nghe An, thereby introducing, honoring and promoting fine traditional values; arousing the pride of Nghe An people; affirming the position, role and great contributions of Nghe An land and people in the historical process of building and defending the country; determined to build Nghe An land to develop more and more.

The workshop was chaired by comrades: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An Province, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai - Permanent Deputy Director of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province Nguyen Duc Trung affirmed: The scientific workshop "Nghe An - 990 years of formation and development" aims to recreate the historical appearance; affirm the position, role and great contributions of the land and people of Nghe An in the long journey of building and defending the country. "With great confidence and expectation, through this workshop, Nghe An province hopes that delegates, scientists, leading experts nationwide will analyze, discuss, research, clarify and provide scientific arguments, propose tasks and solutions to contribute to planning policies, mechanisms to build and develop the socio-economy, consolidate the political system, national defense - security; strengthen and expand foreign relations with the aspiration to rise up, contributing to Nghe An's rapid and sustainable development", Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province said.

Speaking at the workshop, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council emphasized: This is a very important event in a series of practical activities to celebrate the 990th anniversary of the Nghe An name, continuing to promote, honor and spread the great cultural and spiritual values, historical traditions, and glorious revolution of Nghe An homeland.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang suggested that through the Workshop, Nghe An province should summarize the practice, collect more historical, cultural and archaeological evidence, contributing to deepening the formation and development process of Nghe An province. From there, there will be more scientific arguments, honoring the historical values ​​and cultural traditions of the land and people of Nghe An, transforming cultural and historical values ​​into development values ​​for the province, contributing to strongly affirming the great contributions of Nghe An province in the process of building and defending the country, in the struggle for national independence in the past, as well as in the cause of building and defending the Vietnamese Fatherland in the present era.

In particular, emphasizing the issue of promoting the historical and cultural traditions of Nghe An people, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang noted that it is necessary to widely spread the message of a Nghe An united, creative, full of will and aspiration to rise up, with high determination and great efforts to achieve high results in socio-economic development as set out in the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025.

Speaking at the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai - Permanent Deputy Director of Hanoi National University affirmed: Among the 63 provinces and cities of the country, Nghe An is a special province; a land of spiritual land and talented people, truly a miniature Vietnam because it fully converges natural and population factors. With the above typical characteristics, it is the premise leading to the formation, development, and important contributions of Nghe An to the historical process of the nation; it is a strategic location to implement the Party and State's policies to stabilize politics - society, develop the economy, integrate internationally, and contribute to the overall development of the whole country.

With the position assigned by the Party, State and Government, VNU has been implementing many key national projects to fulfill the mission of "innovation – national responsibility – sustainable development”. On the basis of the good cooperation programs in recent years, in the coming time, VNU hopes to have more opportunities to cooperate deeply and extensively with Nghe An Province in many fields (from science - technology, economics, health sciences... to issues of social sciences and humanities, promoting cultural resources, policy consulting... etc.) to contribute practically to the efforts to implement the "Miracle of Lam River" as Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expected when giving a speech at the 19th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on October 17, 2020!

Introducing the Workshop, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities said that the Workshop received 68 articles from scientists in many different fields of expertise, along with managers, agencies, departments, central and local sectors. The presentations focused on in-depth analysis of many aspects from geography, history, culture, education, politics, diplomacy, integration, development, focusing on 3 main groups of topics:On the geography, history, and formation of Nghe An province; On Nghe An's contributions to the historical process of the nation;On the development potential of Nghe An in the coming period.
