The University of Social Sciences and Humanities actively participates in promoting people-to-people diplomacy between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

"World People's Council Days in Vietnam," organized by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations in collaboration with the World People's Council of the Russian Federation, took place in Hanoi, with the participation of World People's Council delegations, experts, scholars, and representatives from numerous domestic and international agencies, organizations, universities, and businesses.

The program aims to create a forum for dialogue, professional exchange, experience sharing, and collaborative networking between Vietnamese organizations, educational institutions, businesses, and experts with international partners. Through this, the activities contribute to promoting people-to-people exchanges, enhancing mutual understanding, and expanding cooperation in the fields of science and technology, culture, education, tourism, and humanities.

One of the program's highlights is the international round-table discussion on the topic "The Role of Tourism in the Economic Development of Countries Globally," which will take place on August 27, 2026, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The seminar was organized by the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in collaboration with the World People's Council and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. The event brought together domestic and international delegates, scholars from various Russian universities; representatives from the leadership of the Faculty of Tourism Studies, lecturers, students, and postgraduate researchers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; representatives from the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, the Department of Cultural Heritage, as well as travel agencies, hotels, and event organizers.

The discussions and exchanges at the seminar focused on topical issues such as global tourism integration linked to sustainable economic development; international cooperation in tourism human resource development; the geographical and logistical shifts of international tourism in the new context; cultural exchange and enhanced understanding between peoples of different countries; and international cooperation in cultural heritage preservation.

Beyond being an academic forum, the seminar also demonstrates the increasingly prominent role of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in connecting international research networks with practical issues in Vietnam. Through leading and coordinating scientific activities involving experts, scholars, and management agencies both domestically and internationally, the University contributes to expanding the space for academic cooperation, enhancing knowledge exchange, and raising the profile of Vietnamese social sciences and humanities in the international arena.

At the same time, the event also contributes to strengthening the training and research brand of the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, within the international partner network, thereby enhancing cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and promoting people-to-people diplomacy between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

Hosting the seminar within the framework of "World People's Council Days in Vietnam" further demonstrates the active role of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in international scientific activities. Leveraging its strengths in social sciences and humanities, VNU-USSH not only creates a space for academic exchange between domestic and international experts and scholars but also contributes to connecting training institutions, management agencies, international organizations, and businesses on issues of practical significance. Through this, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities contributes to promoting knowledge exchange, expanding cooperation networks, strengthening cultural exchange and mutual understanding, and promoting the role of education and scientific research in people-to-people diplomacy between Vietnam and the Russian Federation and other international partners.

The World Peoples' Assembly, formerly known as the Afro-Asian People's Council, was established in Moscow in 2017. With a focus on promoting people-to-people diplomacy and the values ​​of peace and cooperation, this organization is contributing to building bridges of dialogue between nations, communities, and academics worldwide.
