Faculty of Journalism and Communication – A Quarter-Century Journey

In the autumn of 2015, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, celebrated its 25th anniversary (1990-2015).

Over the past twenty-five years, generations of faculty members and staff of the Department have devoted their time, effort, intellect, dedication, courage, and talent to teaching, researching, and training thousands of journalists for the national media industry. Among them, many have matured and achieved encouraging results. For the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, the success of our students and trainees is a great source of encouragement and pride for the Department and our University.

The book comprises over 40 articles, organized into three parts within a coherent narrative:

Part one – '25 Years of Construction and Development' – includes articles by Party and State leaders, the Vietnam Journalists Association, the University leadership, and the Faculty leadership, reflecting on and evaluating the past quarter-century and outlining the tasks and development directions of the Faculty in the new era.

Part two - '25 Years of Teacher-Student Memories' - consists of articles by teachers, generations of lecturers, and students from all classes and programs, all reflecting on the Faculty, reminiscing about profound memories, expressing gratitude, and sharing heartfelt stories from the early years of teaching, studying, and being connected to the Faculty of Journalism and Communication.

Part three, - '25 Years of Teaching and Practicing Journalism' - includes reflections and insights from faculty members on journalism and teaching; lessons learned from the professional experiences of alumni representatives, who are also journalists currently working in Vietnam and abroad; and notes and impressions from current students about their career choices and the vibrant atmosphere of learning, scientific research, and practical activities at the Faculty.

Each page of this book is the result of the collective efforts of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, the consistent and profound attention of the leadership at all levels, and the enthusiastic contributions and support of our students and trainees.

This is a meaningful gift to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
