Launch of the Policy and Management Research Journal

In the face of the current regional and globalization trends, the development of each country cannot only rely on natural resources, geographical location, etc., but must also come from correct policies and strategic development orientations. The development of each country also depends on the vision, thinking, management capacity of the country's leaders and managers, high-quality human resources, a team of good experts as well as the level of science and technology, etc.

In human history, management activities were formed early. Along with the development of social organizations, the state... the requirements for organization and management were also raised as an essential issue. Over time, management activities have become the subject of research in many scientific fields, the most typical and direct of which are the fields ofManagement Science, Policy Science.

Management and policy have a close, organic relationship. Policy can be considered as a tool to implement management activities or in other words, policy is an effective means of management. On the other hand, managers achieve their goals through policies and through planning and promulgating policies to achieve the set plan.

Nowadays, when science has become an institution and social norm, all decisions, especially policy decisions, must be based on objective and accurate scientific arguments. The requirement is that policy planning and promulgation must be linked to practice and at the same time must build trust, play a guiding role, break down barriers, and create strong motivation for development.

Over the years, scientists, managers, and those involved in policy planning, promulgation, analysis, and evaluation have conducted many studies in the field of policy and management. However, having a scientific journal to publish new research results and at the same time be a scientific forum to share knowledge and experience among managers and researchers in the field of policy and management is what many professionals desire.

In response to that request, on November 12, 2014, the Director of Hanoi National University signed Decision No. 4235/QD-VNU on the establishment of the Journal.Policy and Management Researchbelongs to VNU Science Journal. On December 3, 2014, the President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities issued Official Dispatch No. 2845/QD-XHNV-TC to the Institute of Policy and Management to organize and implement the activities of the Journal.Policy and Management Research.Thus, up to now, the journal is the first quarterly publication specializing in policy and management research in Vietnam and the second serial scientific publication of the University.

Special issuePolicy and Management Researchis the mouthpiece of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the Institute of Policy and Management of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and of the professional and research community. The journal will be a forum for domestic and international scientists, leaders and managers to announce the latest research achievements; to exchange views, information, and scientific issues that have been and are being raised in the field of organization and management. At the same time, the scientific activities of the journal also aim to link training with research, contributing to the training of high-quality human resources; transfer of knowledge and technology; closely combining basic and academic research with applied research, building policies while practically serving society, serving the cause of industrialization, modernization and international integration of our country.
