Completing her bachelor's degree program in just three years and graduating with distinction, Nguyen Duong Phuong Anh – a K68 student majoring in Literature – has made her mark with a diligent academic journey at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi. Behind this achievement lies a strong academic foundation built at the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities, a persistent passion for literature, and a continuous commitment to improving her foreign language skills to broaden her learning and research opportunities.

Building upon the foundation laid at the Specialized High School, this foundation continues at the Faculty of Humanities.

Phuong Anh was a student at the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities, class of 1, before continuing her studies in Literature at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Throughout her studies, she not only served as the Class President of the K68 Literature class and a member of the Executive Committee of the Literature Faculty's Student Union for the 2023-2025 term, but also actively participated in Youth Union and Student Association activities, receiving numerous awards from the University and the Student Union for her outstanding contributions to student movements.

For Phuong Anh, choosing Literature as her major was almost a natural continuation of her years studying at the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities. From high school onwards, she studied in an environment rich in academic tradition, where lively lessons, inspiring lectures, and the dedication of her teachers nurtured a special love for literature.

Furthermore, growing up in a family with a love for literature also contributed to nurturing Phuong Anh's passion for the subject of Literature. Therefore, when faced with the choice of major, the Faculty of Literature at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was always her top choice.

"Looking back, I realize that this choice was a very natural continuation of a process of growing up in the very environment I've always wanted to be a part of for the long term," Phượng Anh shared.

Besides providing a foundation of in-depth knowledge, Phuong Anh's time studying at the Specialized High School also helped her develop a scientific way of thinking. According to the student, being regularly encouraged to ask questions, build arguments, and defend her viewpoints with valid evidence laid the groundwork for developing her logical thinking, expression, and critical thinking skills.

Upon entering university, these abilities were further developed through specialized courses and research activities. Sharing about the skills acquired from her time at the specialized high school, the female student said: "While in high school, I learned how to construct and defend theoretical viewpoints at a basic level, in university, I learned how to formulate research problems, process data, and develop a more academic system of argumentation."

Phuong Anh participated as a presenter in an activity at the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities.

Foreign languages ​​– the key to unlocking access to knowledge.

Besides her professional background, Phuong Anh believes that her ability to read and understand English has given her many advantages in her studies and research.

Thanks to her foreign language skills, Phuong Anh has had the opportunity to directly access many research papers, documents, and literary works in their original form. Although reading foreign-language materials still presents many challenges, this process has helped the student better understand the role of foreign languages ​​in her academic journey.

Beyond simply accessing materials, during her studies at the Faculty of Literature, Phuong Anh also had the opportunity to participate in seminars and academic exchanges with international scholars and partners. Being entrusted by her professors with the task of directly engaging with foreign experts helped her gain a deeper understanding of the international academic environment and gradually develop her integration skills.

According to Phuong Anh, foreign languages ​​not only expand resources but also open up many opportunities for learning and self-development. More importantly, the care and support of the teachers, along with the open academic environment of the school, have helped the female student transform her foreign language knowledge into practical experiences.The sweet fruits of an elite training environment.

Completing her training program ahead of schedule and graduating with distinction is a proud milestone in Nguyen Duong Phuong Anh's university journey. However, for this female student, this result is not only due to her own efforts but also the achievement of support from her family, teachers, friends, and the learning environment.

Phượng Anh always cherishes the trust and support of her parents, who have created the conditions for her to confidently pursue her studies. Furthermore, the sharing and encouragement of her friends have also given Phượng Anh the motivation to overcome the pressure of choosing an accelerated learning pace.

Sharing about the factors that contributed to her success, Phuong Anh expressed: "If I had to say what the most important factor is, I think it's not just personal effort but also luck in always having family, teachers, school, and friends by my side."

According to Phuong Anh, the training program at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities not only provides a solid foundation in literature but also allows students to access interdisciplinary fields, thereby broadening their perspectives and enhancing their research capabilities. In particular, the open academic environment and the support of the faculty have encouraged students to develop independent thinking, proactively learn, and continuously improve themselves.
