Attending the Opening Ceremony of the new school year, sharing joy with teachers and students of the School were Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hieu (Vice President of Hanoi National University), Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and leaders of departments, faculties/departments. On the side of the Specialized School, there were the entire Board of Directors of the School, teachers and 470 students of all 3 grades. In addition, the Opening Ceremony of the School also had representatives of the School's Parents' Association and all classes attending and congratulating.
In his welcoming speech, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Principal) emphasized: “This is a very special Opening Ceremony for the teachers and students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities, because this school year, the School welcomes 470 students of all three courses of grades 10, 11, 12 and this school year will also have the first batch of students graduating from high school. Looking back at the past school year and nearly three years since its establishment, overcoming many difficulties in all aspects, especially the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the team of teachers and students of the School has achieved many very proud results in all areas of activity. To achieve that achievement, first of all, I would like to thank the attention of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training; leaders of Hanoi National University, member units of Hanoi National University; leaders of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, training units, functional departments, scientists; the companionship and trust of the parents. In particular, the efforts of the teachers, staff and all students have joined hands to build a dynamic, cozy, friendly, compassionate and humane space for the School.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hieu (Vice President) congratulated the remarkable achievements in the 2021-2022 school year. It is the first and only school in the country to train high school students majoring in Social Sciences and Humanities. The establishment of the School contributes to perfecting the multidisciplinary, multi-field training model at many levels of the National University, carrying out the pioneering mission in discovering and nurturing talents in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities for the country. Although it is a young school, teachers and students of the School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities have achieved many commendable achievements in training knowledge, ethics and sense of responsibility to the community. The leaders of Hanoi National University always believe that, inheriting the ecosystem of a university with a long tradition, with the efforts of all teachers, staff, employees and nearly 500 excellent students, the School of Social Sciences and Humanities will continue to reap more success in the new school year.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) sent her congratulations to the Board of Directors, teachers and all students and emphasized: in the past school year, despite facing many difficulties, the school was newly established, lacked teachers, especially the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, all departments, teachers and students of the school have made every effort to complete the school year's tasks. Teachers and students of the school have achieved many high awards in professional and talent competitions at all levels. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will always accompany, share and support in all aspects so that in the coming school year, with further efforts of teachers and students, the High School for the Gifted will reap many successes.
During the Opening Ceremony, the School Board also awarded Certificates of Merit and gifts to the Valedictorians in the 10th grade entrance exam in 2022, and to the 11th and 12th graders who won high prizes in cultural and talent competitions at all levels.
Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, on behalf of nearly 500 students of the School, Nguyen Hoang Quynh Anh (Valedictorian of Literature 1, Course 3) emotionally shared: “I am extremely honored and proud to represent nearly 500 students and students of the School to share in this very solemn moment. I am one of 183 students who passed the extremely fierce entrance exam, surpassing more than 800 students to officially wear the uniform with the HSSH logo, to study and live the most beautiful days of my student life at a dynamic, modern, friendly, compassionate and humane school. I and 182 friends have realized our dream and that is the initial success, the support for us to continue to strive to study, practice and achieve new achievements, worthy of the tradition of the only specialized school of Social Sciences and Humanities in the country”.
On the occasion of the Opening Ceremony, representatives of the Parents' Association of the school and all classes sent many scholarships to teachers and students of the Specialized High School. These are very meaningful gifts showing the trust and support from parents, encouraging teachers and students of the Specialized High School to strive to achieve more achievements in the new school year!
The opening ceremony was both solemn and cozy but also very joyful, youthful and vibrant with unique and special performances staged, practiced and performed by the students themselves. Students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities are not only good at studying but also very dynamic, modern and talented. As shared by the students: At this school, students can pursue their passion for conquering the vast knowledge of the Social Sciences and Humanities, but also freely express their talents, strengths and interests in many other fields: singing, dancing, MC, media, sports, dancing,...
