On August 12, 2022, the Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed Decision 2200/QD-XHNV promulgating the Regulations on criteria and procedures for awarding scholarships to attract talent in basic science disciplines from the QH-2022-X cohort.
On July 7, 2022, the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi issued Decision No. 2278/QD-VNU-HN, stipulating that from the 2022-2023 academic year, VNU-HN will begin piloting scholarships for students in nine basic science majors at the University of Science and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The decision also assigned the two universities the autonomy to propose criteria, the number of scholarships, and specific methods for awarding scholarships annually.
In line with this policy, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has issued regulations on criteria for awarding the Talent Attraction Scholarship for basic science disciplines (hereinafter referred to as the Talent Attraction Scholarship).

Regarding the target audience

Accordingly, all undergraduate students from the QH-2022-X cohort, during their standard training period, in the 9 basic science disciplines, including Literature, History, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Political Science, Anthropology, Vietnamese Studies, Linguistics, and Sino-Vietnamese Studies, are eligible for consideration if they meet the specific criteria:
- For first-year students: based on criteria including admission results in the university entrance exam (all methods), good conduct, and a "Good" academic record in all three years of high school.
- For students from the second semester of their first year onwards: based on academic results in the scholarship consideration period and meeting the minimum number of credits completed in the scholarship consideration period.

Regarding scholarship amounts

In addition to receiving a scholarship equivalent to the tuition fee for each academic year, scholarship recipients also receive a monthly living allowance of 2,000,000 VND (two million dong per month); and priority in dormitory accommodation (free of charge). Furthermore, students who have received the Talent Attraction Scholarship are given priority consideration for other scholarships with higher support levels if they meet the requirements; they are assigned a mentor scientist, participate in scientific research, and engage in experiential activities throughout their course of study.

Regarding targets

Each major must have a minimum of 5 students per cohort/major. The number of places available annually will be decided by the Rector depending on the number and quality of applications.

Regarding the Scholarship Application Process

- For first-year students in the first semester:
After registering for admission, students submit their applications for the Talent Attraction Scholarship to the Center for Human Resource Forecasting and Development, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, according to regulations, online (paper copies will be submitted after admission and enrollment).
