(November 9th) Celebrating 50 years of tradition of the Faculty of Foreign Languages

50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF TRADITION
FACULTY OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES – HANOI UNIVERSITY
(1958–2008)

From the first foreign language teachers who taught at Hanoi University in 1956, the Department of Foreign Languages ​​was established in 1958, and in 1978 it became the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Hanoi University. For the past 30 years, generations of students from the Faculty have been trained by their teachers, graduated, and achieved success in various fields and held different positions. Nearly 10 years have passed since the last graduating class of foreign language students from the Faculty left school, and the first graduating class has been away from the university for even longer – exactly 25 years.

To give teachers and alumni the opportunity to return to their alma mater, to meet old teachers and friends, on the occasion of the Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20th, the Department of Foreign Languages ​​- Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Department of Foreign Languages ​​- Faculty of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the twin sisters (who separated) from the former Department of Foreign Languages, together with the Foreign Languages ​​Alumni Association, decided to organize a 50th Anniversary Celebration at Thuong Dinh, the place where teachers and students of the Foreign Languages ​​Department shared their student lives.

We cordially invite all former and current foreign language teachers at Hanoi University, including those teaching at the Department of Foreign Languages ​​- University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Department of Foreign Languages ​​- University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; teachers who have been foreign language teaching collaborators for the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​and the two departments in the past and present; and alumni of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​from all training programs (Regular, Non-Regular, Extended, and Non-Concentrated Regular) to attend the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Hanoi University (1958-2008).
