The development of globalization and new advances in technology have brought great impacts on all aspects of human life, including the strong impact on the field of communication. New media based on digital technology with characteristics such as immediacy, social connection value, and multi-device trends have created conditions for international exchange and interaction not only for agencies and businesses but also for individuals.
At the state level, it is the communication about the WTO, sovereignty over islands, border wars or international legal issues such as the case of Hong Quang Minh (Minh Beo) who was prosecuted and convicted in the US and was released to Vietnam, the case of Vietnamese citizen Doan Thi Huong who was involved in the assassination in Malaysia... With international media organizations and businesses, it is shown in the way non-governmental organizations try to change their messages to suit the host country, start-up projects calling for foreign investment or corporations like Samsung managing their image after vice chairman Lee Jae Yong was arrested for bribery or Formosa before the waste treatment crisis... Not only business agencies but also the public today can have a big impact on international media such as the movement of placing Facebook profile pictures on the French flag after the terrorist attack in Paris in 2015, the public's active interest and comment on the recent US presidential election...
In a world of increasing interdependence, human communication is no longer constrained within national borders, leading managers to many crossroads.
In the first option, people are faced with integration and have to builda global communications management system that is completely separate from the cultural aspect.Because of the multiculturalism between countries, messages can be viewed from different angles, leading to different meanings.
The second option is to developa global media network in which public exchange and discussion are based on convergence and the building of a common culture, thereby creating a unified global media management model. This will become a decisive step forward in international diplomatic, legal, trade and investment activities to achieve and maintain a sustainable world order.
At the talk, experts and delegates will discuss and give some suggestions for businesses and agencies in international media management. At the same time, experts also emphasize the urgency of human resource needs in the field of media management and the directions for implementing training in this field in Vietnam.
