1. Admission objects- High school graduates from Vietnam or have foreign diplomas recognized as equivalent.
- People with a secondary school diploma in the same field as the applied field and have completed the required amount of high school cultural knowledge as prescribed by law.
(hereinafter referred to as high school graduation).- Have good health to study according to current regulations.
2.Admission methodIn 2024, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU will enroll students according to 6 admission methods:
2.1. Method 1 (PT1 - method code: 301):Direct admission and priority admission according to current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Traininga) Hero of Labor, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, National Emulation Fighter.
b) Candidates who win first, second, or third prizes in national and international competitions for excellent students (subjects in which the prizes are awarded will be considered for admission to the majors/training programs specified in Appendix 2 or national and international science and technology competitions (with project content, scientific research topics in the fields of Social and Behavioral Sciences and Business and Management decided by the Admissions Council) organized and sent to participate by the Ministry of Education and Training; the time of winning the prize must not exceed 3 years from the time of direct admission.
c) Candidates with severe disabilities must have a certificate of disability issued by a competent authority as prescribed, ensuring the ability to study a number of suitable majors as decided by the Admissions Council.
d) Candidates are ethnic minorities with very few people according to current regulations of the Government, candidates from 20 poor border and island districts in the Southwest region or have permanent residence for 3 years or more, studied for 3 years and graduated from high school in poor districts (boarding students of ethnic minorities are calculated based on permanent residence) according to regulations of the Government and Prime Minister.
e) Candidates are foreigners whose Vietnamese knowledge and proficiency test results meet current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and VNU;
f) Candidates who are ethnic minority university preparatory students have their application documents sent by ethnic minority university preparatory training schools to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities according to instructions.
2.2. Method 2(PT2 - method code: 303): Direct admission and priority admission according to specific regulations and admission instructions of VNUHigh school students nationwide with 3 years of Good conduct and excellent academic performance will be considered for direct admission and given priority for admission in the year of high school graduation to a suitable major when meeting one of the following criteria:
- Won First, Second, Third prizes in the High School Olympic exams of VNU (prize-winning subjects are considered for admission to the majors/training programs specified in the Appendix of the admission plan);
- Won First, Second, Third prizes in the provincial/municipal excellent student competition and the average score of 3 years of high school is from 8.5 or higher (rounded to 2 decimal places) (prize-winning subjects are considered for admission to the majors/training programs specified in the Appendix of the enrollment plan);
- Be a member of the monthly contest of the program "Road to Olympia" organized annually by Vietnam Television and have an average high school GPA of 8.5 or higher.
Candidates who win prizes in high school years will have their results reserved when applying for university admission at VNU.
2.3. Method 3 (PT3 - method code: 401): Admission based on valid HSA test results of Hanoi National UniversityCandidates with HSA exam results organized by VNU achieving at least 80/150 points or higher.
2.4. Method 4(PT4 - method code: 408): International certificate admission (A-Level, SAT, ACT)a) Candidates with an international certificate from the Cambridge University Examinations Center, UK (Cambridge International Examinations A-Level, UK; hereinafter referred to as A-Level certificate): Candidates using an A-Level certificate have results of 3 subjects, including Math or Literature according to the prescribed combinations of the corresponding training program, ensuring that the score of each subject is from 60/100 points or higher (equivalent to grade C, PUM range ≥60).
b) Candidates with SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test, USA) scores of 1100/1600 or higher. VNU's registration code with the SAT testing organization (The College Board) is 7853-Vietnam National University-Hanoi (candidates need to declare the above registration code when registering for the SAT test).
c) Candidates with ACT (American College Testing) standardized test scores of 22/36.
2.5. Method 5(PT5 - method code: 409): Admission based on international language certificates (IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, HSK and HSKK, JLPT, TOPIK II) combined with high school graduation exam results- Candidates with an IELTS Academic English certificate of 5.5 or higher or equivalent international English certificates or other international foreign language certificates (specified in Appendix 3) and a total score of the remaining 2 subjects in the admission combination of the major/training program of at least 14 points in the 2024 high school graduation exam (including Math or Literature).
2.6. Method 6(PT6 - method code: 100): Admission based on 2024 high school graduation exam results- Candidates whose 2024 high school graduation exam results according to each admission group meet the input quality assurance threshold prescribed by VNU and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

6.1. About professional orientation
a) Oriental Studies:The Oriental Studies training program includes three majors: Indian Studies, Thai Studies and Chinese Studies. After the first semester, the Oriental Studies Department will divide the majors for first-year Oriental Studies students based on their wishes and learning results in the first semester, giving priority to students with HSK and HSKK level 3 or higher language proficiency certificates for Chinese Studies, Thai proficiency certificates for Thai Studies, and international English certificates for Indian Studies.
