On September 8, 2013, with the sponsorship of the Toshiba International Foundation, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi will organize an international conference on the theme "Japan in the Asian Era". This theme focuses on Japan's position within an increasingly dynamic region where regional powers are playing an increasingly important role in shaping and reshaping a "new Asia". The conference also officially commemorates the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973-2013) and the 40th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan friendship and cooperation.
The workshop is a forum for sharing ideas, presentations, and research findings, and for discussing issues related to the above topic. We respectfully invite you to submit one or more abstracts to the following subcommittees of the workshop:
- Japan in the Asian era
- Asia in the new international context: Asia's prospects
- New findings in Asian studies
- Creating a “New Asia”
