Opening of the conference of key officials

Over 100 key officials of the University and invited delegates from Hanoi National University participated in the opening session of the Conference of Key Officials of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the afternoon of May 27, 2010 in Cua Lo - Nghe An.In the opening session, the Conference heard reports summarizing the 2009-2010 academic year and outlining the direction and tasks for the 2010-2011 academic year, presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector). The summary report specifically highlighted the achievements in all aspects of the university's activities during the 2009-2010 academic year, up to the present time, in all areas: undergraduate training, postgraduate training, training inspection, scientific research, personnel organization, political and student affairs, foreign relations and international cooperation, quality accreditation, infrastructure development, planning and finance, development and application of information and communication technology, university administration and management, etc. In each area, existing problems and their causes were also analyzed to find solutions for the next academic year. In the second part of the report, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim emphasized the directions, tasks, and key solutions to be implemented in the coming academic year. The financial and infrastructure issues of the University during the past academic year were also reported to the Conference by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu (Vice Rector). At the opening session, the Conference also heard Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son (Vice Rector) present the action plan for implementing the Prime Minister's directive and the Ministry of Education and Training's action plan on reforming higher education management for the period 2010-2012. Speaking at the opening session, on behalf of the leadership of Hanoi National University, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Trong Quat (Vice Director) highly appreciated the achievements of the University in the past academic year and welcomed the directions set by the University for the 2010-2011 academic year. Associate Professor Dr. Pham Trong Quat also noted the shortcomings pointed out in the summary report, emphasizing the need for the University to overcome them so that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities can live up to its position as a leading university in research in social sciences and humanities. On the morning of May 28th, the Conference continued to discuss the reports presented on the afternoon of May 27th, and also heard the draft report on the school's development strategy for the period 2010-2012, with a vision to 2030; and the report on strengthening the training and development of staff in the 2010-2011 academic year and subsequent years.
