2. Candidates can familiarize themselves with the exam format by referring to the sample exam of VNU on the VNU website. Currently, some websites and social media platforms are advertising practice tests for the VNU aptitude test; this information is fraudulent. VNU only publishes guidance information related to the aptitude test on its website at:http://vnu.edu.vn/Candidates should take note of this information to avoid being scammed and wasting time and money.
3. Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) provides extensive support for candidates taking the aptitude test. Specifically, the My Dinh Dormitory Management Board, under the VNU Student Support Center, has allocated nearly 100 rooms, equivalent to over 500 accommodations, for candidates and their families attending the test, with fully equipped rooms. To register for dormitory accommodation, candidates can register directly at the My Dinh Dormitory Management Board, Ham Nghi Street, My Dinh II Urban Area, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, or call the hotline: 04.3204.3999 or 098.4772382.
4. How to take the competency assessment test
- Candidates log in to their exam account (the candidate's account slip will be distributed in the exam room) to take the exam on the computer.
- Candidates must complete each section sequentially. After completing Section 1, they can proceed to Section 2, and after completing Section 2, they can proceed to Section 3. Candidates cannot go back to completed sections to redo them.
- Candidates are free to change their answer choices (for multiple-choice questions) or re-enter calculated values (for fill-in-the-blank questions) within the allotted time for each section of the exam.
- Candidates are not allowed to intentionally restart the exam from the beginning, for example by logging in again from scratch or by any other means. During the exam, if candidates encounter computer problems or other irregularities, they must immediately report it to the invigilator.
Based on the results of the aptitude test, VNU will select candidates from highest to lowest scores (the minimum admission score is determined by the major and type of training program).

5. Candidates must be present at the examination venue at least 30 minutes before the examination time indicated on their examination notice. At each examination session, candidates must:
- Candidates must present their National Identity Card/Citizen ID Card.
- Submit one 4x6 photograph. On the back of the photo, clearly write: full name, ID card/Citizen ID number, and registration number (the photo must be taken no more than 3 months prior to the exam, be an original photo, not edited, and have a blue or white background).
6. Candidates should pay close attention to the invigilator's instructions at the beginning of the exam to ensure correct execution of the procedures and avoid any deliberate deviations. During the exam, candidates must comply with the following regulations:
- Candidates must be present at the examination location on the specified date and time;
- Bring and present your National Identity Card when attending the exam;
- Only pens, pencils, compasses, erasers, rulers, slide rules, and pocket calculators without additional memory card slots or text editing capabilities are allowed in the exam room.
- Recording devices and cameras, or any equipment capable of directly capturing audio and video signals, are not allowed.
- Weapons, explosives, flammable materials, beer, alcohol, carbon paper, correction fluid, documents, communication devices, or any other items containing information that could be used to cheat during the exam are not allowed in the examination room; Smoking is prohibited in the examination room; Follow the instructions of the invigilators; Sit in the correct position corresponding to your registration number printed on your exam card, receive a computer, and familiarize yourself with it.
- If the name, registration number, and examination room on the account slip do not match the information on your exam card, candidates must immediately inform the invigilator to receive the correct account slip.
- The list of commonly used handheld calculators (capable of performing arithmetic, trigonometric, and transcendental calculations) that candidates are allowed to bring into the examination room includes: Casio FX 95, FX 220, FX 500A, FX 500 MS, FX 500 ES, FX 500VNPlus, FX 570 MS, FX 570 ES, FX 570 ES Plus, and FX 570 VN Plus; VinaCal 500MS, 570 MS, 570 ES Plus, and 570 ES Plus II; Vietnam Calculator VN-500RS, VN 500 ES, VN 500 ES plus function; VN 570 RS, VN 570 ES, and VN-570ES Plus; Sharp EL 124A, EL 250S, EL 506W, EL 509WM; Canon F-788G, F-789GA; and equivalent calculators.

7. Receive exam results
- Candidates can check their National Competency Assessment Exam scores on the VNU website and the VNU Examination Center website. A certificate of National Competency Assessment Exam results, bearing the red seal of the VNU Examination Center and the signature of the Director of the VNU Examination Center, will be sent to candidates who took the exam.
- The results of the National Competency Assessment Test are valid for 24 months from the date of the test. The results of the foreign language competency assessment test are only valid in the year of the test for admission to the University of Foreign Languages - VNU Hanoi or training programs of units within VNU Hanoi that require the use of foreign language competency assessment test results for admission, and universities and colleges not affiliated with VNU Hanoi that have announced the use of foreign language competency assessment test results, with VNU Hanoi's approval, for admission (candidates must register for the foreign language competency assessment test that matches the admission requirements of each training program).
- Vietnam National University, Hanoi does not conduct review sessions for the National Competency Assessment Exam and the Foreign Language Competency Assessment Exam.
