Press Release: Award Ceremony of the Dao Minh Quang Foundation Scholarships for VNU-USSH Students for the 2024-2025 Academic Year

1.The Dao Minh Quang Foundation Scholarship is a scholarship project funded by the Dao Minh Quang Foundation (Federal Republic of Germany). The scholarship is awarded annually to students from disadvantaged families who have achieved excellent academic results, possess a passion for scientific research and creative thinking, and actively participate in community activities with a positive impact, including youth union and student association movements. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the Foundation will award 28 scholarships to 28 students from various disciplines at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, each scholarship worth 10,000,000 VND (Ten million Vietnamese Dong).
Previously, in November 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, and the Dao Minh Quang Foundation signed a Framework Agreement on Cooperation and Sponsorship, which included cooperation on sponsoring awards and scholarships from the Dao Minh Quang Foundation for students of the University and activities aimed at providing systematic training for Vietnamese youth to establish careers and start businesses in a creative and sustainable way.

2.The Dao Minh Quang Foundation is a charitable foundation of the Federal Republic of Germany, established by Dr. Dao Minh Quang in December 2016 in Berlin under the German Civil Code. The Dao Minh Quang Foundation is officially recognized as an independent legal organization by the Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection of the State of Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany. The Foundation only carries out public service and charitable activities.
The goal of the Dao Minh Quang Foundation is to encourage cooperative development activities between Vietnam and Germany through five main areas, particularly in promoting general education, vocational training, and higher education; encouraging entrepreneurship and sustainable agriculture projects; and music and culture. The founder and chairman of the Foundation is Dr. Dao Minh Quang. Since its establishment, the Foundation has supported and funded numerous projects in Germany and Vietnam. The Foundation is also actively preparing to fund other projects in the near future. All projects that have been, are being, and will be funded are entirely covered by the Foundation's own capital, contributed by the Founder, and additional funding from Dr. Dao Minh Quang.
Over the years, solely in promoting general education, vocational training, and higher education, as well as music and culture, the Dao Minh Quang Foundation has provided billions of Vietnamese dong annually, primarily in the form of scholarships and awards for students with outstanding academic achievements and difficult family circumstances, for musical talents, and to fund German-Vietnamese concert projects and programs, as well as cultural and musical exchange projects between Germany and Vietnam.
To date, the Dao Minh Quang Foundation's Scholarship and Award Ceremony has been held at many different schools and locations, such as the University of Science (HUS), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH), the International Institute of Francophone Studies (IFI) of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), etc. Among these, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, has become a key institution in the Foundation's funding activities in Vietnam. The 2024-2025 academic year marks the eighth consecutive year since the 2017-2018 academic year that students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have received scholarships from the Dao Minh Quang Foundation.
Attending the "Dao Minh Quang Foundation Scholarship Award Ceremony" were the Foundation's Chairman, Dr. Dao Minh Quang; the representative of the Foundation's Council in Vietnam, Lawyer Nguyen Tien Lap; representatives of the Board of Directors and heads of functional departments; scholarship recipients; and a large number of students from the university.

3.The Dao Minh Quang Foundation Scholarship Award Ceremony program includes the following main contents:

- 13:30 - 14:00: Welcoming delegates and organizational matters
- 14:00 - 14:05: Statement of purpose, introduction of delegates
- 14.05 - 14.15: Opening remarks by a representative of the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities
- 14:15 - 14:25: Speech by the Foundation's representative: Dr. Dao Minh Quang
- 14:25 - 14:35: Announcement of the Decision and awarding of scholarships to 28 students
- 2:35 PM – 2:40 PM: Student representatives receiving scholarships give a speech of gratitude.
- 2:40 PM – 3:00 PM: Dr. Dao Minh Quang interacts with students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
