Announcement of the organization of the 2024 University of Social Sciences and Humanities Staff Table Tennis Tournament

With the consent of the Board of Directors and the Executive Board of the Trade Union, the Table Tennis Club of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities announces the plan to organize the "Table Tennis Tournament for Staff of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in 2024" with the following specific contents:

I. Purpose of organizing the tournament
- Promote the sports movement to improve health, create conditions for staff and lecturers to practice, compete, and exchange with colleagues in the school, contributing to strengthening solidarity and mutual understanding;
- Practically set achievements to celebrate major holidays: 80th anniversary of the University of Literature tradition, 30th anniversary of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20.
II. Tournament organization plan
1. Participants:
Managers, lecturers, civil servants and employees working at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
2. Competition content and format:
Athletes compete according to the current table tennis rules of the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation, each match lasts 5 sets (play 5 games, win 3, win is counted as 1 point, lose is counted as 0 point):
2.1. Single content
a) Group stage:
- Athletes registered to compete are classified into 2 groups (A, B);
- In each group, athletes compete in a round robin to score points to select the 2 highest ranked athletes to enter the final round.
b) Final round:
In the semi-finals and finals, athletes compete in a knockout round to win first, second, and third place.
2.2. Double content
a) Group stage:
- Based on the level and performance of previous tournaments, athletes are divided into 2 groups (group A and group B) to draw lots to choose the competition pairs.
- Pairs of athletes compete in a round robin to score points to select the 4 pairs of athletes with the highest results to enter the final round.
b) Final round:
In the semi-finals and finals, pairs of athletes compete in a knockout round to win first, second, and third place.

Floor 7 (group stage) and 1st floor lobby (final round) Building E - University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 336 Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi.
4. Prize structure
4.1. Application content:
- First prize: Souvenir and gift worth 1,000,000 VND
- Second prize: Souvenir flag and gift worth 700,000 VND
- Third prize: Souvenir flag and gift worth 500,000 VND
4.2. Double content:
- First prize: Souvenir flag and gift worth 2,000,000 VND
- Second prize: Souvenir flag and gift worth 1,500,000 VND
- Third prize: Souvenir flag and gift worth 1,000,000 VND
