Invitation to submit papers for the seminar commemorating 45 years of Buddhist development in Hai Phong, accompanying the nation's progress 1981-2026.

In accordance with the cooperation program with the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Hai Phong City to commemorate the 45th anniversary of Hai Phong Buddhism's journey alongside the nation (1981-2026), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in collaboration with the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Hai Phong City, is organizing a national scientific conference with the theme: "Commemorating 45 years of Hai Phong Buddhism's development alongside the nation 1981-2026". Details of the conference are as follows:
1. Purpose of the Workshop
- Affirming the immense scale and historical significance of the country's reform efforts during the 45 years of Buddhism's companionship with the nation, including Hai Phong City.
- Affirming the value of Buddhism's engaged spirit in the historical development of Hai Phong City, accompanying the nation.
- To review the traditions and immense contributions of Buddhism, of monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers, to the success of the renovation and development of Hai Phong City over the past 45 years.
- Lessons learned for the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Hai Phong City to promote its motto: Dharma - Nation - Socialism.
- To create a scientific forum for researchers, scholars, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to exchange and share historical documents and practical experiences, upholding the spirit of devotion to religion and patriotism, and promoting a virtuous life in the Buddhist activities of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Hai Phong City in the new era of the country.
2. Time and location of the event
- Date and time of organization:May 16, 2026 (Expected)
- Location: Headquarters of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Hai Phong City, 197 Hai Ba Trung Street, Le Chan Ward, Hai Phong City
3. Content of the Workshop
1) Buddhism has contributed to the success of the construction and development of Hai Phong City over the past 45 years, from 1981 to 2026.
2) The history of the formation and development of Buddhism in Hai Phong, the current state of documentary heritage of Buddhism in Hai Phong, and approaches to promoting its value.
3) Contributions of monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to the cause of national construction and development, the development of Hai Phong City, and achievements of the Committees within the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Hai Phong City.
4) Development orientation of Buddhism in Hai Phong after the merger, leveraging Buddhist resources in the cause of national construction and defense in general, and sustainable development of Hai Phong City in particular.

4. Article writing guidelines
a) Deadline for submitting abstracts and full papers:
- Deadline for registering names and submitting abstracts: until January 30, 2026
- Deadline for submitting full articles: April 15, 2026
b) Article submission guidelines
- File name of the full article: Author's name_article title.docx; Language: Vietnamese
- The article should be typed on A4 paper (210 x 297 mm), using Times New Roman font (Unicode), size 13, left margin 3 cm, right margin 2 cm, top margin 2.5 cm, bottom margin 2.5 cm (including images), and 1.5 line spacing;
- Articles submitted to the Organizing Committee should include: Title; Author(s) name; Abstract (approximately 150-200 words); Keywords (3-5 words); Article content (approximately 3000 words); References; Author information (full name, affiliation, phone number, email address, contact address);
- Papers submitted to the Conference must be original. Papers will be checked for data duplication according to the Organizing Committee's regulations and evaluated through an independent peer review process by reputable experts and scientists.
- Qualified papers will be selected for publication in the proceedings with an ISBN number.
