Seminar "Turning the Pages of a Precious Manuscript"

To mark the reprinting of research works on Vietnamese literature compiled and edited by Professor Tran Ngoc Vuong, the Faculty of Literature, in collaboration with the East-West Cultural Space, is organizing a seminar to introduce these books.

The seminar also served as an exchange and dialogue surrounding issues of medieval Vietnamese literature in particular and Vietnamese literature in general. The books introduced included:

  • Vietnamese Literature - A Distinct Stream Within a Common Source(Tran Ngoc Vuong, Information and Communications Publishing House, reprinted in 2018).
  • Scholar-artists and Vietnamese literature(Tran Ngoc Vuong, Information and Communications Publishing House, reprinted in 2018).
  • Vietnamese Literature from the 10th to the 19th Centuries: Theoretical and Historical Issues(Edited by Tran Ngoc Vuong, Hanoi National University Publishing House, reprinted in 2018).

The panel discussion featured speakers including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Toan - Hanoi Pedagogical University, Dr. Pham Van Hung - University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Ms. Quach Thu Hien - Institute of Literature, Dr. Mai Anh Tuan - Hanoi University of Culture, and many other researchers.

  • Time: 3:00 PM, Friday, May 11, 2018.
  • Location: East-West Cultural Space, 99 Nguy Nhu Kon Tum Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi (within the Hacinco Student Village complex).

The program is tentatively scheduled:

  • 15:00-16:30: Panel discussion with speakers.
  • 16:30-17:00: Meet and greet with the author (editor-in-chief), book signing.
