Announcement of the Business Challenges 2018 competition.

I. OBJECTIVES

Business Challenges 2018This competition is a successor and upgraded version of the UEB Genesis Start-up competition, which was initiated by the University of Sydney in collaboration with the University of Economics (UEB) in 2016.

Purpose of the competition:

• To create an environment where young people in Hanoi and neighboring provinces can develop startup ideas and solve practical business problems.
• To create connections between the entrepreneurial community, investors, and startup ideas and business solutions.
• Contributing to guiding young people towards their future career paths.

II. TIME OF ORGANIZATION

CompetitionBusiness Challenges 2018It officially started on April 27, 2018 and ended on December 27, 2018.

III. PARTICIPANTS

• Young people who are currently studying or have graduated from colleges and universities and are now living and working in Hanoi or neighboring provinces.
• You can register to participate as a team or individually. For those registering individually, the organizers will form teams based on your preferences.
• Each participating team is allowed to have a minimum of 3 members and a maximum of 10 members.

IV. COMPETITION RULES

• The competition consists of two main branches:
  • Branch 1: Starting a business.
  • Branch 2: Solving practical business problems (Human Resources, Marketing, Finance...).
• Contestants must register and complete the procedures as instructed.
• Each person can only register as a member of one team.
• Each participating team must have at least one member who is a student currently enrolled in a college or university.
• Each participating team may only choose to compete in one branch within the competition.
• For participating teams needing to recruit additional members, the organizing committee will provide support.

1. Round 1: Launching

❖ May 20, 2018: Workshop + Orientation

❖ May 31, 2018: Announcement of Round 1 results

2. Round 2: Beginning

❖ June 1, 2018: Participating teams in Branch 2 received a real-world business case study.

❖ June 3, 2018: Workshop 2 - Topic: Marketing

❖ June 15, 2018: Workshop 3 - Topic: Technology

❖ June 28, 2018: Workshop 4 - Topic: Human Resources

❖ August 7, 2018: Workshop 5 - Topic: Finance

❖ July 12-17, 2018:

Branch 1 provides a preliminary overview of the project.

➢ Branch 2 presents an off-topic discussion of a real-world business situation.

❖ July 20, 2018: Announcement of Round 2 results

3. Round 3: Challenging

❖ July 21 – August 31, 2018: Participating teams finalize their projects.

❖ August 16, 2018: Workshop 6 – Topic: Important Considerations in Raising Investment Capital

❖ September 4-8, 2018:

➢ First round of fundraising (Branch 1)

➢ Assessing the progress of work completion within the enterprise (Branch 2)

❖ September 10, 2018: Announcement of Round 3 results

4. Round 4: Speed ​​up

❖ September 11 – October 27, 2018: Participating teams continue to refine their projects.

❖ October 29 - November 3, 2018:

➢ Second round of fundraising (Branch 1)

➢ Assessing the progress of work completion within the enterprise (Branch 2)

❖ November 15, 2018: Announcement of Round 4 results

5. Round 5: Shining

❖ November 16 – December 8, 2018: Participating teams continue to refine their projects.

❖ December 10, 2018: Preliminary results

❖ December 27, 2018: Grand Finale Gala

VI. AWARD STRUCTURE

• 1st Prize: 50,000,000 VND
• 1st Prize: 20,000,000 VND
• 1 Third Prize: 10,000,000 VND
• 1st Prize for Potential Winner: 5,000,000 VND

VII. GENERAL PROVISIONS

• The organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify participating teams if any violations of the competition rules are detected. All decisions of the organizing committee will be communicated to the participating teams or individual contestants.within 24 hours of the decision..
• The organizers reserve the right to adjust the competition rules or change the timing of rounds or side activities if necessary. Any changes will be notified to the participating teams.within 24 hours of the decision..
• Images, names, and personal information filled in the competition registration forms of participating teams and each team member will be used by the Organizing Committee for activities related to the competition without any further conditions, except for activities prohibited by law.
• The information provided by participating teams to the Organizing Committee must be complete and valid. The Organizing Committee is not responsible for any inaccurate information.
