The University of Social Sciences and Humanities received its quality accreditation certificate (cycle II) on December 28, 2012, issued by the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, based on the recommendation of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi's Quality Accreditation Council. According to the Council's accreditation results, the University met national quality standards with a success rate of 98.3% (60 out of 61 criteria met). According to regulations, to achieve this standard, the affiliated units need to meet 80% of the criteria.

According to regulations, to achieve this standard, the affiliated units need to meet 80% of the criteria.Since the 2006 external evaluation by the Ministry of Education and Training, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has made remarkable efforts in self-reflection and addressing existing shortcomings, achieving positive changes in training activities and many other areas, leading to noteworthy results in the second cycle of the University's quality accreditation. A special feature of this year's VNU quality accreditation was that the external evaluation team conducted direct interviews with faculty, students, postgraduate students, and employers regarding all aspects of the University's operations, and applied several AUN regional and international standards in the accreditation criteria. This result marks a significant step forward for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in improving the quality of all aspects of its operations, as well as enhancing the quality, professionalism, and effectiveness of quality accreditation throughout the University. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is one of the first units of Vietnam National University, Hanoi to implement quality assurance activities since 2006, along with the establishment of the Center for Training Quality Assurance. To date, quality assurance activities have become well-established with main activities including: self-assessment of the university, assessment of lecturers, assessment of training programs, etc.
