On the morning of November 20, 2011, the Faculty of History solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate its 55th anniversary (1956 - 2011).Attending the ceremony were Prof. Le Van Tung - former member of the Politburo, former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Comrade Hong Vinh - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Propaganda Department. In particular, the celebration also had representatives of central agencies, universities, research institutes, professors, scientists working at the faculty and generations of lecturers, students and pupils of the History faculty.
The Faculty of History is a prestigious national and international center for high-quality historical research and training, with a tradition of more than half a century of construction and development. On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of its founding, the Faculty of History was honored to receive flowers and a congratulatory letter from the President. Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Van Quan - Party cell secretary, Deputy Head of the Faculty, on behalf of the organizing committee of the celebration, read the congratulatory letter from the President. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hai Ke - Head of the Faculty of History - read a speech reviewing the history of the faculty's establishment and the achievements during the 55 years of development. Over the 55 years of construction and development (1956-2011), the Faculty of History has trained about 5,500 Bachelors, nearly 500 Masters and 112 PhDs for the country. Most generations of students, trainees and postgraduates of the Faculty have matured professionally and have prestige in the industry. Many scientists have been honored domestically and internationally. Many alumni of the Faculty have become senior leaders of the Party and the State. Many units and individuals in the Faculty have been awarded noble prizes by the State. On behalf of the School's leadership, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Party Committee Secretary, Principal of the School - acknowledged and congratulated the achievements of the Faculty of History after 55 years of establishment and development. Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Lam, on behalf of all generations of teachers, received flowers to express affection from the collective of staff, lecturers and students of the Faculty of History. Prof. Dr. Phan Huy Le, on behalf of the generations of teachers and lecturers of the Faculty, expressed his feelings on the anniversary day.
