Attending the ceremony were: Prof. Dr. People's Teacher Nguyen Van Khanh - Principal of the School, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Party Committee Secretary, Vice Principal of the School, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs; along with representatives of the Board of Directors of the Faculties, Leaders of the Department of Student Affairs and Affairs, Foreign Affairs and International Training Cooperation, Youth Union - Student Association, along with 80 students receiving Chung - Soo scholarships in 2015-2016 and more than 250 students representing the units.
Speaking at the scholarship awarding ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, expressed sincere gratitude to the Chung Soo Scholarship Fund. The Vice President said that over 70 years of establishment and development, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has trained tens of thousands of students, graduate students and researchers. In particular, in recent years, many international training links have been implemented, many international conferences have been successfully organized, affirming and enhancing the prestige and position of the University towards the whole society and international friends. In order to continue improving the quality of training and research, the University is implementing a strategy to internationalize its fields of operation. Regarding partners from Korea, since its early days of establishment, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has received attention and support from the Korean Embassy, Korean international educational cooperation organizations, including the Chung-Soo Scholarship Fund. The staff and students of the School are extremely excited and honored to be chosen by the Fund as the first unit in Vietnam to award scholarships to students with achievements in studying, scientific research, training and self-cultivation. The Vice Principal is committed to managing and using the Scholarship Fund effectively and in accordance with the principles and purposes set forth by the Fund.

For the students, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim sent his congratulations to the 80 students who received Chung-soo scholarships today. These are typical faces representing more than 6,000 full-time university students of the University, with excellent achievements in studying and training, overcoming difficulties to rise up, being union cadres, class cadres with high academic achievements. The Vice President also reminded that not only the students who received scholarships today, but also all students of the University, need to constantly strive and train to achieve higher achievements in studying, to have the opportunity to continue receiving scholarships from the Chung Soo Foundation in the coming years.
On behalf of 80 students receiving Chung-Soo scholarships, Nguyen Khanh (K57, Faculty of Management Science) gave a speech. Nguyen Khanh expressed his gratitude to the Chung-Soo Scholarship Fund and to the teachers who created favorable conditions to help students in their studies, scientific research and group activities. Last semester, Nguyen Khanh achieved high academic results with an achievement score of 3.83 and a training score of 94. Khanh pledged to use the scholarship money effectively for his studies and scientific research. At the same time, the Chung-Soo scholarship is also a motivation for Nguyen Khanh and other students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to strive even harder in the coming years.

The Chung-Soo Scholarship Foundation of Korea was established in 1962 by Mr. Park Chong Hee with the aim of nurturing human resources to serve the economic and social development of Korea. Over the years, the Foundation has expanded its support to countries around the world, including Vietnam. Since 2007, the Foundation has chosen the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU - a leading high-quality training and scientific research center in the country in the fields of social sciences and humanities to award scholarships. In the 2015-2016 school year, the ninth year, the Chung-Soo Scholarship Foundation continues to award 80 scholarships, each worth 250 USD, to students of the University.
