The ceremony was attended by: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department; along with representatives from the Deans of the Faculties, leaders of the Student Affairs Department, the Department of External Relations and International Training Cooperation, the Youth Union - Student Association, and 80 students who received the Chung-Soo scholarship in 2015-2016, and more than 250 students representing various units.
Speaking at the scholarship awarding ceremony, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, expressed sincere gratitude to the Chung Soo Scholarship Fund. The Vice Rector stated that over 70 years of development, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has trained tens of thousands of undergraduates, graduate students, and doctoral candidates. Particularly in recent years, numerous international training partnerships have been implemented, and many international conferences have been successfully organized, affirming and enhancing the University's prestige and position in society and internationally. To further improve the quality of training and research, the University is implementing a strategy of internationalizing its areas of activity. Regarding partners from South Korea, from its early days, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has received attention and assistance from the Korean Embassy and Korean international educational cooperation organizations, including the Chung Soo Scholarship Fund. Faculty and students of the University are extremely pleased and honored that the Foundation has selected it as the first institution in Vietnam to award scholarships to students with outstanding achievements in academics, scientific research, training, and self-improvement. The Vice Rector pledged to manage the scholarship fund effectively and in accordance with the Foundation's stated purpose.

To the students, Professor Nguyen Van Kim extended his congratulations to the 80 students who received the Chung-soo scholarship today. These are exemplary individuals representing over 6,000 full-time undergraduate students of the University, who have achieved outstanding academic and personal development, overcome difficulties, and are high-achieving student union and class leaders. The Vice Rector also urged not only the scholarship recipients but all students of the University to continuously strive and improve themselves to achieve even higher academic results, so that they may have the opportunity to continue receiving scholarships from the Chung-soo Foundation in the coming years.
On behalf of the 80 students who received the Chung-Soo Scholarship, Nguyen Khanh (K57, Faculty of Management Science) delivered a speech expressing her gratitude. Nguyen Khanh thanked the Chung-Soo Scholarship Fund and the teachers who provided support to the students in their studies, scientific research, and extracurricular activities. In the past semester, Nguyen Khanh achieved high academic results with a GPA of 3.83 and a conduct score of 94. She pledged to use the scholarship money effectively for her studies and scientific research. Furthermore, the Chung-Soo Scholarship serves as motivation for Nguyen Khanh and other students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to strive even harder in the coming years.

Following the congratulatory speeches and opening remarks, 80 students representing 16 faculties at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were personally awarded the Chung-Soo scholarships by Professor, Doctor, and People's Teacher Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of the University).

The Chung-Soo Scholarship Fund of Korea was established in 1962 by Mr. Park Chong Hee with the aim of nurturing talent to serve the economic and social development of Korea. Over the years, the Fund has expanded its support to countries around the world, including Vietnam. From 2007 to the present, the Fund has selected the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi – a leading center for high-quality training and research in the social sciences and humanities – to award scholarships. In the 2015-2016 academic year, the Chung-Soo Scholarship Fund continued to award 80 scholarships, each worth US$250, to students of the University.
