In the context of the ASEAN Community coming into being at the end of 2015, the Faculty of Political Science Youth Union organized the contest “Learning about the ASEAN Community” to raise awareness and sense of responsibility; at the same time, creating opportunities and motivation for union members and students in the school to study, research and enhance understanding of the ASEAN Community. The contest is also a useful playground to enhance learning and exchange, and strengthen solidarity among units in the school.

Attending the program were Mr. Hoang Dinh Luong - Deputy Secretary, Vice President of the VNU Youth Union; Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Ninh, President of the Association of Former Teachers; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Principal of the University; Dr. Tran Bach Hieu - Party Committee member, Deputy Secretary of the VNU Youth Union, Secretary of the University Youth Union and many other guests.
Besides, Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Ninh, Mr. Nguyen Son Ngoc - Head of ASEAN Department - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh will be the "judges" in the contest.

With the participation of 14 teams, after the preliminary round taking place on November 23, 2015, the Organizing Committee selected the 5 best teams to participate in the final round, including teams from the following units: Political Science, Tourism, Oriental Studies, History Faculty and International Studies Faculty.

With 4 attractive competitions: Greeting, Knowledge, Talent and Debate, the competition has equipped students with a lot of knowledge and skills to enter the ASEAN Community in the coming time.
In the end, the first prize went to the Faculty of Oriental Studies. The Faculty of International Studies and the Faculty of Political Science received the second and third prizes respectively. Two consolation prizes were awarded to the Faculty of History and the Faculty of Tourism Studies.
