The University of Social Sciences and Humanities organizes Vietnamese language training at the following levels: basic Vietnamese, intermediate Vietnamese, advanced Vietnamese for foreigners to meet the demand for human resources capable of using Vietnamese to serve Vietnamese language research and training centers, foreign diplomatic agencies, international organizations, and investment offices in Vietnam. Short-term Vietnamese language training at the above levels also helps foreigners have the conditions to study for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees at universities and research institutes in Vietnam.
Training programs
Basic level
- Provide learners with basic knowledge of Vietnamese phonetics; teach learners how to pronounce Vietnamese according to the standard pronunciation of Hanoians; provide learners with simple sentence structure models, sentence patterns and words used by Vietnamese people in daily life.
- Equip learners with professional skills related to Vietnamese: listening, speaking, reading and writing skills at basic level.
- After completing the course, students can use Vietnamese well in daily communication, read and write short essays in Vietnamese.
Intermediate level
- Provide learners with knowledge and understanding of Vietnamese for daily communication, as well as communication in different separate environments; provide learners with reading passages of different genres with longer and more difficult content so that they can expand their vocabulary; provide broad knowledge of Vietnamese grammar including both vocabulary and syntax.
- Practice listening and speaking skills in daily Vietnamese communication and listening and speaking skills in different communication environments; equip learners with the skills to read and understand different types of texts in Vietnamese, the skills to write complex sentences and essays on different topics from difficult to easy, from simple to complex.
- After completing the course, students can listen well to daily conversations, listen to specialized lectures in class. Students can participate in discussions on issues related to their major, read and understand different types of texts in their major, and use Vietnamese to write long essays on many topics.
Advanced level
- Provide learners with basic knowledge of Vietnamese: grammar, vocabulary...; provide students with knowledge of Vietnamese studies: history, economics, politics, literature, culture... related to life and traditional cultural activities of the Vietnamese people.
- Equip learners with professional skills related to Vietnamese: listening, speaking, reading, writing, teaching Vietnamese as a foreign language; provide skills to compile Vietnamese tool books: Vietnamese textbooks, Vietnamese dictionaries.
- After completing the course, students can work in many different fields: researching and teaching Vietnamese at institutes, universities, and Vietnamese training centers. Students can also take on jobs related to Vietnamese such as: translation and interpretation at foreign embassies, press agencies, etc. at home and abroad. The program also ensures that students have enough Vietnamese proficiency to listen to and understand the content of lectures in different majors at Vietnamese universities.
Training organization form
Classes are organized in groups of 2 or more people or private classes with 1 teacher - 1 student depending on the student's request. In addition to classes held during office hours from Monday to Friday in the classrooms of the Faculty of Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies (
House B7 Bis, Tran Dai Nghia Street - Bach Khoa Ward - Hanoi), The school may also organize after-hours classes at locations requested by students.
Exams and certification
When the learner accumulates enough credits, the School will organize a test in 4 subjects: listening, speaking, reading, writing according to each level: basic, intermediate, advanced to assess the learner's level. If the result of each subject is above 5 points and the learner requests, the School will issue a Vietnamese language certificate according to the level and the learner has achieved.
