The Elegant Female Student Contest – a competition aimed at honoring the beauty of female students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi – will launch in September with the theme "Beauty for the Community".To date, the Elegant Female Student Contest of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has a four-year tradition and has established itself as a healthy platform that not only honors the beauty of female students in the humanities and encourages them to continuously improve themselves, but also creates a correct understanding of the beauty of female students in the new era. This contest annually attracts a large number of students both inside and outside the university. The female students who win the crown are all outstanding, not only representing the beauty of the humanities but also achieving high rankings in many other competitions at various levels. Many have even become prominent figures attracting media attention. These include Phung Hong May - Miss Elegant Female Student of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities 2008 and also Miss Hanoi National University 2008; Nguyen Thi Y Nhi - Miss Elegant Female Student of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities 2005 and winner of the First Prize in the 21st Century Women Contest in 2007; Nguyen Hoang Anh - Miss University of Social Sciences and Humanities 2003 and Miss Vietnam National University, Hanoi 2003; Hoai Thuong - winner of the Most Charming Face award in the Elegant Female Student Contest of Vietnam National University, Hanoi 2008; Nguyen Thi Kim Sau - Runner-up in the Elegant Female Student Contest of University of Social Sciences and Humanities 2008 and winner of the Miss Intellectual Elegant Female Student Contest of Vietnam National University, Hanoi 2008.Phùng Hồng Mây - Hoa khôi Nữ sinh Thanh lịch ĐHKHXH&NV 2008. This year, the competition's theme is "Beauty for the Community," aiming to highlight the potential contributions of the winning contestants to the school's and society's activities. According to the Organizing Committee, "experience from previous competitions shows that although the students performed excellently in the competition rounds to become the most outstanding contestants, after the competition ended, they did not seem to have made many positive contributions to the school's activities. Therefore, we hope to build an image of a female humanities student who is not only beautiful but also actively contributes to the school and society."This year's competition rules have also undergone significant changes to broaden the pool of participants, creating equal opportunities for all female students who wish to become representatives of the Faculty of Humanities. Instead of each faculty having only one representative, students can register freely using the form posted on the competition website: http://www.missnhanvan2009.tamtay.vn. The public interested in the competition can also begin following and voting for contestants from the preliminary rounds using simple and quick methods on the website. In particular, to emphasize the community-oriented criteria, the competition includes a side activity: an Idea Proposal round, allowing contestants to freely contribute ideas to student activities at the university. Through this, the Organizing Committee will evaluate the creativity, organizational skills, ability to attract a crowd, and enthusiasm for contributing to the common good of the contestants. The best ideas will receive support from the Student Union for implementation. The Organizing Committee will award one Miss title, two Runner-up titles, and five special awards (Most Talented Student, Friendliest Student, Best Ao Dai Wearer, Best Evening Gown Wearer, and Most Popular Student). The preliminary rounds are scheduled from September 8th to October 2nd, 2009. The final rounds will take place from October 2nd to November 6th, 2009. The grand finale will be held at 7:00 PM on November 6th, 2009 at the Me Tri Dormitory Cultural Center.
