Elegant Female Student Contest - The contest to honor the beauty of female students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU will start from September with the theme "Beauty for the community".Up to now, the Elegant Female Student Contest of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has had a 4-year tradition and has affirmed a healthy playground model, not only honoring the beauty of female students of the Humanities, encouraging female students to constantly improve themselves but also creating a correct perception of the beauty of female students of the new era. This playground has always created a particularly strong attraction for a large number of students inside and outside the school every year. The female students who won the Miss crown of the contest are all very excellent, not only representing the beauty of the Humanities but also achieving high rankings in many other competitions. Many faces are even very prominent, attracting the attention of the media. They are Phung Hong May - Miss Elegant Female Student of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities 2008 and also Miss Hanoi National University 2008; Nguyen Thi Y Nhi - Miss Elegant Female Student of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities 2005 and won the First Prize for Women of the 21st Century in 2007; Nguyen Hoang Anh - Miss University of Social Sciences and Humanities 2003 and Miss Vietnam National University, Hanoi 2003; Hoai Thuong - Lovely Face Award in the 2008 VNU Elegant Female Student Contest; Nguyen Thi Kim Sau - Runner-up in the 2008 VNU Elegant Female Student Contest and Miss Intelligence in the 2008 VNU Elegant Female Student Contest.

The traditional criteria of the contest are: Education - Beauty - Talent - Behavior - Friendliness. This year, the contest has the theme "Beauty for the community" to highlight the ability of the winning contestants to contribute to the common activities of the School and society. According to the Organizing Committee, "experience from previous contests shows that although the students have performed excellently in the contests to become the most outstanding faces, when the contest ended, it seemed that they had not made many positive contributions to the common activities of the School. Therefore, we hope to build an image of a female student of Humanities who is not only beautiful but also actively contributes to the School and society."

The rules of this year's contest also have significant changes to expand the contestants, creating equal opportunities for all girls who want to become representatives of Humanities female students. Instead of each faculty having only one representative, students can register freely according to the form posted on the contest website: http://www.missnhanvan2009.tamtay.vn. The public interested in the contest can also start following and voting for contestants right from the qualifying round with simple and quick methods on the above website. In particular, to emphasize the criteria for the community, the contest has an additional sideline activity called the Idea Proposal contest so that contestants can freely contribute ideas to the activities of the school's students. Thereby, the Organizing Committee will evaluate the creativity, organizational ability, crowd attraction as well as enthusiasm for the common work of the contestants. The best ideas will be supported by the School Youth Union to implement. The Organizing Committee will award 01 Miss prize, 02 Runner-up prizes and 05 subsidiary prizes (Talented Female Student, Friendly Female Student, Female Student with the Most Beautiful Ao Dai, Female Student with the Most Beautiful Evening Gown, Female Student with the Most Votes). Expected: The qualifying round starts from September 8 to October 2, 2009. The final round takes place from October 2 to November 6, 2009. The final night will take place at 7:00 p.m. on November 6, 2009 at the Me Tri Dormitory Cultural House.
