Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh speaks before the dialogue.
The dialogue was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh – Vice Rector of the University, Mr. Claudio Gutierrez - Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to Vietnam, Juan Pablo Volken – Head of Cooperation and Consular Affairs, Embassy of Argentina, Mariano Saravia – Argentine journalist; representatives from the Embassies of Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, and Cuba in Vietnam, along with many lecturers and students of the Faculty of International Studies.
Speaking before the dialogue, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh stated that Argentina and other South American countries share similarities with Vietnam: "Argentina and South America are very far from Vietnam, but today the geographical distance seems to have narrowed with introductions to the country and people of Argentina and South America."

Claudio Gutierrez, the Argentine Ambassador to Vietnam, shared his views on Argentina's foreign policy in the article "The Malvinas Islands Issue".
I also think that Vietnam and Argentina in particular, and South American countries in general, share similarities in the lives of their people, in their revolutions, and in their wars for independence. That is important. Today's meeting will provide a lot of information and knowledge for students and lecturers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.”
Besides sharing insights about Argentina and its people, Ambassador Gutierrrez and Mr. Juan P. Volken discussed Argentina's foreign policy, focusing on the "Malvinas Islands issue," which refers to the sovereignty dispute between Argentina and the United Kingdom over the Malvinas, South Georgias, the South Sandwich Islands, and the surrounding maritime space. This dispute has been ongoing for hundreds of years.

Mr. Juan Pablo Volken answered questions from faculty and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
When this issue was raised, many attendees immediately thought of the "Dispute over the Paracel and Spratly Islands" between Vietnam and China. After hearing the Ambassador's remarks, many opinions were expressed regarding this matter.
Lecturer Vu Anh Thu (Faculty of International Studies) asked: “Regarding the Malvinas Islands dispute, when discussing methods of seizure, I am reminded of China's occupation of the Paracel and Spratly Islands. Argentina raised this issue with the United Nations and considered it a dispute. The dispute continues despite Argentina having many grounds for doing so. Why doesn't Argentina take the matter to an international court?”
Lecturer Nguyen Van Dap (Faculty of International Studies) also wondered: "Will Argentina's recent change of president affect its political and foreign policy views and strategies in the future?"

Journalist Mariano Saravia talks about international cooperation in South American countries.
Representatives from the Republic of Argentina responded in a spirit of understanding. Argentina continues to pursue legal action and will bring this issue to the International Court of Justice and the United Nations. At the same time, this dialogue also represents an exchange of views and perspectives with Vietnam, a country with similar disputed issues.
In addition to the issues mentioned above, journalist Mariano Saravia also shared the results of international cooperation in South American countries, citing successful examples such as Brazil and Argentina.
