Closing Ceremony of the Korean Global Young Entrepreneurs Training Program

On May 31, 2019, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the Closing Ceremony of the 2019 Korean Global Young Entrepreneurs Training Program.

The program was implemented according to the memorandum of understanding signed by the two sides on December 30, 2017, as well as the Vietnamese Language Teaching Contract dated December 13, 2018, with funding from the Korean Government. Accordingly, 17 young Korean students came to study Vietnamese language and culture at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Korean students studied for 2 months at Howon University (Korea) and 5 months at the Vietnam Language and Culture Center. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is responsible for coming up with ideas, developing appropriate curriculum content, and organizing teaching according to the requirements and quality committed to the partner. At the end of the course, 9 out of 17 Korean students found jobs in Vietnam.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Principal of the University) expressed his impression of the Korean students' efforts in studying. They must have a passion and interest in the language, culture, history, country and people of Vietnam to be able to complete this course excellently. He compared the students to cultural ambassadors of the two countries. For the Global CEO Research Group, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities hopes to continue to implement and expand new cooperation projects, based on the success of this first Program.

On behalf of the Center for Vietnamese Language and Culture, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hong Con (Director of the Center) sent congratulations to the Korean students, especially the 9 students who have found jobs. The Center is committed to opening its doors to any students who want to return to study and learn about Vietnamese language and culture. He also thanked the host unit, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Global CEO Research Group, for working closely with the Center throughout the implementation of the Program.

On behalf of the Global CEO Research Group, Prof. Kim Kwang Soo (Director of the Global CEO Research Group) expressed his optimism about the future careers of young Korean entrepreneurs. He also believed that with the pioneering spirit and daring to think and do of entrepreneurs, they will find many opportunities to develop their careers in a land with great potential for economic growth like Vietnam.

At the closing ceremony, Prof. Kim Kwang Soo and Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh awarded certificates of completion of the Program to Korean students.
