Professor Pham Quang Minh, Rector, received the 2018 National Award for External Information.

The 2018 National Award Ceremony for External Information, organized by the Central Propaganda Department, the Steering Committee for External Information Work, and the Vietnam News Agency, was held this morning, June 7, 2019. The book "Vietnam's Innovative Foreign Policy (1986-2015)" by Professor Pham Quang Minh, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was one of 90 outstanding works receiving awards this time.

Professor Pham Quang Minh, Rector, received the 2018 National Award for External Information.

Attending this year's awards ceremony were: Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Member of the Political Bureau, Prime Minister; Comrade Vo Van Thuong, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work; many leaders of central departments, ministries and agencies; representatives of news agencies, press and publishing houses, along with the award-winning authors.

The Organizing Committee selected 90 outstanding works to be honored at the 2018 National Awards Ceremony for External Information, including 8 first prizes, 17 second prizes, 25 third prizes, and 40 consolation prizes.

The book "Vietnam's Foreign Policy of Innovation (1986-2015)," which won third prize, by author Pham Quang Minh, focuses on analyzing the formation, development, and evolution of Vietnam's foreign policy of innovation from 1986 to 2015. The book has three main sections: the context and reasons for Vietnam's adoption of the foreign policy of innovation; the development of Vietnam's foreign policy of innovation from 1986 to 2015; and lessons learned from the innovation process. The author not only assesses outstanding achievements but also draws lessons learned, pointing out limitations that need to be overcome in order to improve foreign policy in the future.

2018 marked the 5th year of the National Award for External Information. This year's award received nearly 1,000 entries in various formats including print, online, radio, television, photography, and books, presented in 13 languages, from over 1,000 authors and groups of authors from more than 70 media agencies of central ministries and departments, over 60 local media agencies, and 12 publishing houses nationwide, as well as foreign experts, journalists, and Vietnamese people living abroad.

National Award for External InformationOrganized by the Central Propaganda Department and the Steering Committee for External Information Work, this event honors outstanding journalistic works and publications on external information and communication that have created a widespread impact, becoming an effective bridge for promoting the image of Vietnam to international friends across five continents.
