Professor, Principal Pham Quang Minh received the 2018 National Award for External Information

Attending this year's award ceremony were: Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Politburo member, Prime Minister; Comrade Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work; many leaders of Central Committees, Ministries and branches; representatives of news agencies, newspapers, publishing houses and award-winning authors.

The Organizing Committee has selected 90 outstanding works to honor at the 2018 National Foreign Information Awards Ceremony, including 8 first prizes, 17 second prizes, 25 third prizes and 40 consolation prizes.

The book “Vietnam’s foreign policy innovation (1986-2015)” by author Pham Quang Minh, which won the Third Prize, focuses on analyzing the process of formation, movement and development of Vietnam’s foreign policy innovation from 1986 to 2015. The book has 3 main contents: the context and reasons for Vietnam’s foreign policy innovation; the development of Vietnam’s foreign policy innovation from 1986 to 2015; lessons learned from the innovation process. The author not only evaluates the outstanding achievements but also draws lessons, points out the limitations that need to be overcome, in order to perfect foreign policy in the coming time.

2018 is the 5th year that the National Award for External Information has been held. This year's award received nearly 1,000 works in the forms of print, electronic, radio, television, photos and books, expressed in 13 languages, by over 1,000 authors and groups of authors from over 70 press agencies of central ministries and branches, over 60 local press agencies and 12 publishing houses nationwide, experts, foreign press reporters and overseas Vietnamese.

National Award for Foreign InformationHosted and organized by the Central Propaganda Department and the Steering Committee for External Information Work, the event honors outstanding press works and publications on external information and propaganda, which have created a widespread influence and become an effective propaganda bridge for the image of Vietnam to international friends across five continents.
