The objective of the Project is to build and maintain an online Vietnamese language teaching program (including 6 levels) that is basic, practical, effective, suitable and easily accessible for overseas Vietnamese, in order to help generations of overseas Vietnamese, especially the young generation, have enough Vietnamese language skills to use regularly, contributing to maintaining and promoting awareness of the origin, feelings towards the homeland and country, and preserving national identity.

From 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will coordinate with the University of Technology to convert teaching programs from the VTVLive platform to VNU's LMS. The school hopes that VNU can establish a Joint Coordination Board of the Project to continue to have long-term operational plans.

The representative of the Board of Directors of VNU emphasized the need for the University to ensure the professional quality of the contents in the Project and to coordinate more actively with units in VNU to ensure the progress of launching some components next September.
Previously, on December 9, 2021, VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son had a meeting with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inform about the activities that VNU is conducting to build a Vietnamese language training channel for overseas Vietnamese. Attending the meeting were Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi, Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Hoang Anh Tuan.
