Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, said that this year the university is applying a new admission method for postgraduate programs: evaluating applications and interviewing candidates for all 44 master's degree majors. This replaces the traditional exam format, where candidates had to write essays on two basic and foundational subjects, each lasting 180 minutes.
 

Ms. Huong stated that through the interview process, the school will be able to comprehensively assess candidates' knowledge, communication skills, thinking abilities, and motivation for learning, in addition to the scores shown in their application. At the same time, the school will also understand the candidates' aspirations, desires, and plans for study, research, and development, so that it can better support and accompany them throughout their studies at the school, provided they meet the admission requirements. Ms. Huong also added that in 2022, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities issued many new policies to support students and attract high-quality students. The university applies a special direct admission policy, whereby students with a GPA of "good" or higher in all majors that have been accredited according to the Ministry's standards are eligible for direct admission.EducationGraduate programs are directly admitted to universities and training institutions or accreditation organizations with international prestige (AUN-QA, ABET, etc.), such as Literature, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, History, Vietnamese Studies, International Studies, and Archival Studies.

Students with excellent grades or higher are not only eligible for direct admission to their chosen major but also have the option to be directly admitted to related majors. For example, graduates with excellent grades or higher in Journalism, Multimedia Communication, International Communication, or Public Relations are eligible for direct admission to Journalism or Media Management programs.

Students majoring in Tourism, Tourism and Travel Service Management, Hotel Management, Restaurant and Food Service Management are eligible for direct admission to the Tourism program.

Students majoring in Political Science, Party Building and State Administration, Public Administration, and International Relations are eligible for direct admission to Political Science or Ho Chi Minh Studies...

Students with a GPA of excellent or higher in a relevant or related field are eligible to apply for doctoral programs.

In addition, there are 13 specialized majors with separate admission mechanisms, under which candidates from all majors: Journalism (application-oriented), Public Policy; Political Science (application-oriented); Social Work (application-oriented); Tourism; Library and Information Science (application-oriented); Theory and HistorycinemaTelevision; Science and Technology Management (Research-oriented); Science and Technology Management (Application-oriented); Cultural Management; Office Administration (Application-oriented); Journalism and Media Management; Religious Studies (Application-oriented).

However, candidates must meet the requirements regarding years of experience and the number of bridging courses to supplement their knowledge, depending on the specifics of each field.
