Amidst the vibrant and joyful atmosphere of new students on their first day of university, a reporter from ussh.edu.vn had a quick interview with the top scorers of the 2010 university entrance exam. With radiant faces, the top scorers enthusiastically shared their joy on their first day of university and their plans for the upcoming academic year.
PV: How do you feel about today's enrollment day?
Pham Minh Duyen(Top student in Group C, Social Work major): My first impression upon entering the school gate was that the school was truly magnificent. Unlike other schools, the classrooms here are all painted a vibrant yellow. If I had known beforehand, I would have worn a yellow outfit to stand out. Today, my father brought me to enroll, and moreover, seven other classmates from Thai Binh Specialized High School also passed the entrance exam to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, so I didn't feel out of place.
Pham Phuong Ly(Top student in Group D, Journalism and Communication major): Having to go to enrollment alone was a bit strange at first, but I found the enrollment day really fun. Today I also met and made quite a few friends.
Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc(Top student in Group C, majoring in Oriental Studies), after completing the enrollment process, I had to rush down to the dormitory to get my accommodation and only had time to arrange a phone call later.
PV: What are your plans and intentions for studying in this new environment?
Phuong LyLy shared that after the enrollment ceremony, her homeroom teacher spoke with her and planned to elect her to the class committee. Ly confided: "I'm very happy to participate in group activities and student organizations, but I'm also a little worried because I'm still quite inexperienced and feel that my responsibilities will be greater. But I will try my best to live up to the trust of my teachers and classmates."
Minh DuyenI know the school has a high-quality program, so I plan to apply to the high-quality program in Management Science. I hope to achieve good academic results, just like I did in high school.
Bich NgocFor now, I want to settle into my new environment. During the school year, I will try my best to study well. I plan to learn English and computer skills to help me throughout my studies and future career.
PV: Before enrolling, did you research the credit-based training system at the school?
Minh DuyenI've also heard about credit-based training, but I haven't had the opportunity to learn more about it. I hope the school will provide a clearer and more specific explanation during the school year.
Phuong LyI've also researched and learned that credit-based training helps students proactively manage their time and can shorten their study period. Further discussion revealed that all three valedictorians in high school were very enthusiastic participants in class activities and were outstanding members of the class leadership team. Upon entering university, they hope to continue participating in extracurricular activities to learn and accumulate more knowledge, life skills, and study methods at university. We wish the dreams, plans, and aspirations of the valedictorians and the new K55 students will soon become a reality with excellent results.
