Art exchange "Friends' melody"

On the evening of May 9, 2014, the Youth Union - Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) organized an art exchange night called “Melodies of Friends” and awarded prizes for the contest “Humanity in Me”. The program was an activity to celebrate the success of the 8th Congress of the University Youth Union (term 2014 - 2017) and to celebrate the 124th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

Attending the exchange night were Mr. Vu Van Hai - President of VNU Student Association, Permanent Deputy Secretary of VNU Youth Union; Mr. Tran Bach Hieu - Secretary of VNU Youth Union; Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Lan - President of VNU Student Association, along with representatives of functional departments of VNU and more than 400 Vietnamese and international students studying at VNU.

The “Friend Melody” art exchange night was organized with the desire to create an environment for exchange between Vietnamese students and foreign students studying at the University. The program is a special tour that takes the audience to visit lands, people and unique cultural and artistic features across countries and regions, thereby strengthening the spirit of solidarity and international friendship.

Through the performances, Vietnamese and international students brought to the show the unique cultural characteristics of their nation. The performance “Duyen quan ho” brought the audience back to Kinh Bac land to meet the Lien Anh Lien Chi, who are preserving the intangible cultural heritage of humanity – Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs. Meanwhile, the dance “Bai ca que huong” brought the audience to the land famous for its grasslands, horse milk wine and music influenced by nature and nomadic customs – Mongolia. “Ngong tong cao” painted a Central Highlands land full of sunshine, wind and nameless nostalgia. Or the Yosakoi dance captivated the audience by exuding the beauty of traditional Japanese culture...

At the exchange night, the Youth Union and the Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities awarded prizes for the contest “Humanity in me”. This is a meaningful and practical activity in the series of activities to celebrate the Youth Month 2014 and the 8th Congress of the University Youth Union. The contest is also an opportunity for each member and student to express their feelings and pride for the school they have been studying at, and at the same time, it is an opportunity to record memorable moments and unforgettable memories with the school, teachers and friends. After nearly 1 month of launching, with three categories: Essay, Photo Creation, Video – Clip Creation, the contest organizers received 212 essays, 15 Video – Clips and 212 photos.
