Dr. Thich Phuoc Dat - Member of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Deputy Head of the Central Buddhist Education Committee, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute of Buddhist Studies, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City.
On the side of agencies and organizations, there were representatives of the leadership of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Hanoi City Fatherland Front Committee, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM City.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, emphasized that Vietnamese Buddhism with its worldly spirit has been affirmed and proven throughout history. The worldly engagement of Vietnamese Buddhism not only helps to widely spread the good teachings of this religion in the community but also accompanies the struggle, protection and construction of the Fatherland in history as well as at present. Among them, it is impossible not to mention the role and contribution of Buddhist women - one of the four groups practicing together and performing Buddhist activities in the house of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
History has proven that Vietnamese Buddhist women are an important part, contributing significantly to the cause of national liberation and nation building. In peacetime, the contribution of Buddhist women is shown more clearly and in many aspects, not only in imparting teachings but also in social activities of practical significance contributing to the development of the country.

As one of the leading training units in the field of social sciences and humanities, over the years, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU has conducted research and seminars related to the role of Buddhism in general and the contribution and position of women in Buddhism. The scientific seminar "The worldly spirit of Vietnamese Buddhist Women in the past and present" is a forum for discussion, to clarify a number of theoretical and practical issues related to the contributions of Vietnamese Buddhist Women in history as well as at present and to propose solutions and recommendations to promote the value of the worldly spirit of Vietnamese Buddhist Women in contemporary society.

Most Venerable, Dr. Thich Phuoc Dat - Member of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha shared that the scientific conference "The worldly spirit of Vietnamese Buddhist women in the past and present" is a tribute to the achievements and efforts of women throughout the history of Vietnamese Buddhism. The worldly spirit of Vietnamese Buddhist women in the past and present has affirmed its role in the history of the nation and needs to be encouraged and promoted in the current renovation process.
Most Venerable, Dr. Thich Phuoc Dat hopes that the scientific conference organized by the Department of Religious Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU will open up new research directions and approaches with many new research projects, encouraging the spirit of engagement, the positive contributions of Buddhist women in all fields, contributing to the longevity of the Dharma, the prosperity of the country, and the happiness of the people. Accordingly, affirming the role and position of Vietnamese women in the period of global integration of the country.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, speaks
Speaking at the conference, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU said that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities always promotes scientific research activities, with about 30 to 40 conferences held each year, covering many topics within and outside the social sciences and humanities. In particular, Religious Studies is one of the departments with outstanding research results of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with a spirit of enthusiastic scientific research, attracting the attention of the scientific community.
Appreciating the close cooperation and support of scientists at universities, research institutes, and organizations in organizing the conference, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan believes that this will be a great resource in research, shedding light on scientific issues about the spirit of Buddhist women's engagement in the world.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Kim Oanh presented - Head of the Department of Religious Studies, presented a paper: The "feminine" nature of Vietnamese culture and the position of Vietnamese Buddhist women past and present.
The Organizing Committee received more than 40 papers from scholars contributing important content in the research on the worldly spirit of Vietnamese Buddhist women in the past and present with main topics such as: (1) The worldly spirit of Vietnamese Buddhist women in history; (2) The worldly spirit of Vietnamese Buddhist women in contemporary society; (3) Some solutions to promote the worldly spirit of Vietnamese Buddhist women in the current period.
It is expected that after the conference, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU will publish a book with valuable research results.
