At the workshop, researchers presented the content framework of the geographical calendar according to the fields, discussed the criteria and specific regulations on compiling geographical sections, such as requirements on content, basic information structure, writing style, editing style, etc. Accordingly, the content requirements of the geographical calendar must meet the requirements of objectivity, distinctiveness, comprehensiveness, both presenting the whole and highlighting the characteristics of Nam Dinh province.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU is a unit with a lot of experience in compiling local geographical maps. However, building a geographical map according to new criteria has many new and difficult points. Therefore, scientists of VNU-USSH spent more than 01 year researching the content of the geographical map of Nam Dinh province, organizing scientific seminars, and project research groups before signing the contract for this scientific task.
In November 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU signed a contract for the scientific and technological task "Compiling Nam Dinh Geographical Records" with the project management agency, the Department of Science and Technology of Nam Dinh province.

Dr. Dinh Thi Thuy Hien presented her views and plans for building a system of documents during the compilation of Nam Dinh Gazetteer. The mission of Nam Dinh Gazetteer is to compile Nam Dinh Gazetteer according to the standards of the Vietnam National Gazetteer on the basis of recording, describing, and providing information in a complete, objective, and truthful manner.
Based on the standards of the National Geographic of Vietnam, the Nam Dinh Geographical Collection aims to provide basic knowledge about natural geography, environment, people, history, politics, economy, society, and culture of the current Nam Dinh region in general and specific relationships, in order to contribute to the development of science, education, raising people's intellectual level, serving policy making, developing science, education, raising people's intellectual level, serving policy planning, socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, contributing to the completion of the special national science and technology task of building the National Geographical Collection of Vietnam according to the Prime Minister's Decision in December 2017.
The team of scientists participating in the Nam Dinh Geographical Mission includes leading researchers in the fields of history, geography, culture, economics, society, etc. from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, research institutes, prestigious universities, and local experts.
