The workshop attracted the attention of lecturers, researchers, and postgraduate students from many institutions and universities in various provinces and cities across the country.
Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong affirmed: The diversity in fields and topics; the richness in approaches and methods; and the quality of the articles have contributed to creating a vibrant and professional forum for young humanities scholars.
In his opening remarks at the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - shared the good news: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is focusing its resources on building itself into a multidisciplinary research university. The university has a large team of scientists, and national and international projects and research topics in the social sciences have benefited from the contributions of VNU-USSH scientists. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is also proud to be a research and implementation unit for many policy advisory programs for the Vietnamese government.
According to the Times Higher Education World University Ranking by Subjects 2024, published on October 26, 2023, the Social Sciences field at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) has risen to the top 501-600 globally. As a leading institution for training and research in social sciences and humanities, the university consistently prioritizes supporting postgraduate students in enhancing their academic qualifications and facilitating international publications.
The International Scientific Conference on “Issues in Social Sciences and Humanities” is an academic forum for young researchers and graduate students to publish and exchange new research results related to their theses and dissertations. At the same time, the conference supports graduate students and young researchers in enhancing their capacity for international publication in response to international standards applied in scientific activities by domestic and foreign organizations.

The workshop had a total of 88 registered authors/groups of authors and 73 papers were selected (an increase compared to the first workshop which had 68 papers).
The research topics are diverse and cover many fields. Specifically, the reports focus on topics related to theoretical and practical issues in social sciences and humanities (history, philosophy, religion, education, culture, language, media, sociology, psychology, politics, etc.) in sustainable development in Vietnam and other countries; and policy issues concerning the development of social sciences and humanities in sustainable development.
