On the morning of September 10, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities solemnly held the opening ceremony of the new school year 2011-2012.The opening ceremony was attended by many generations of cadres, teachers, students and trainees of the school. Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Director of Hanoi National University - attended. In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Principal of the school - reviewed the outstanding achievements of the school in the past school year in all aspects of activities. In the 2010 - 2011 school year, training work has achieved many outstanding achievements. The school has just completed 4 years of implementing the conversion of training methods from the year system to credits, and is implementing the second phase of the conversion process and bringing credit training into more depth, comprehensiveness and efficiency. The results of the first bachelor's course trained according to credits have graduated over 90% with 99.3% achieving good grades or higher, including 5 students graduating 1 year early and 30 students graduating one semester early. Scientific research work in the past school year, the School has completed the acceptance of dozens of research topics and projects, including 5 state-level scientific topics, and coordinated with domestic and international partners to successfully organize 25 scientific seminars/conferences, especially 16 international scientific seminars/conferences. The entire school's staff has published 680 articles in specialized journals and scientific seminars. In addition, international cooperation has continued to be expanded and developed. Last year, the School signed 14 more cooperation documents with universities in Germany, Hungary, Korea, China and Thailand...
Thanks to the above efforts, at the end of the 2010-2011 school year, many collectives and individuals in the school were awarded emulation titles and noble prizes by the Party and the State. In particular, the school was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of its tradition. On the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2010-2011, the school also organized a ceremony to present certificates of merit and prizes to 4 valedictorians in the recent university entrance exam and 50 students of the courses with excellent and good academic results in the 2010-2011 school year. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Director of Hanoi National University affirmed the prestige and importance of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in contributing to the cause of building and developing the country through the periods. The Director of VNU especially emphasized that in order to promote the achievements of the 2011-2012 school year, teachers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities need to continue to be pioneers, creative and innovative to achieve higher quality and efficiency, approaching international standards for all activities of the school in training and scientific research; pay attention to strongly innovating both the curriculum, content and teaching methods towards promoting capacity and developing skills for learners; creating a democratic, objective and modern working environment; better exploiting the strengths of basic sciences, social sciences and humanities; thoroughly applying the management method according to output standards...
In the 2011-2012 school year, the School will focus on implementing the following key tasks: + Implement planning and transform training programs towards integration, enhance the compatibility between training sectors, reduce the number of subjects and improve training quality; implement well the programs under the current strategic tasks, at the same time implement 1-2 new sectors/specializations; continue to expand international training cooperation programs. + Focus on implementing the task of training and fostering qualified staff, international joint training programs and high-quality training; organize strong research groups first in sectors/specializations participating in training programs under the strategic tasks and international joint programs. + Implement the development of 1 to 2 projects and a number of independent scientific topics at the State level; preside over the organization of a number of highly interdisciplinary seminars. + Organize end-of-term school assessment, conduct self-assessment of Linguistics according to AUN standards; upgrade teaching facilities and equipment + Continue to innovate university governance, increase the use of information technology in administrative work, management and operation of school activities; strengthen discipline, culture and school order.
