On February 24, 2014, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector of the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities - held a meeting with Mr. Tran Uc Nhan - Head of Education Department, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Lam Khiet - Head of International Cooperation Department, Wenzao University of Foreign Studies; and Mr. Hua Quy Doanh - Head of Research and Development Department, Wenzao University of Foreign Studies.

Also present were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Head of the Department of External Relations and International Training Cooperation, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Dinh Chinh - Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

During the meeting, leaders from both sides discussed scholarship programs in Taiwan and Vietnam; opportunities for cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Wenzao University of Foreign Studies; and key issues related to promoting the establishment of a Taiwan education center in Vietnam.

Mr. Tran Uc Nhan introduced the "Taiwan Scholarship," the "VEST-500 Study Abroad Scholarship from Vietnam," and the "Chinese Proficiency Test" to the faculty and students of the university.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector of the University, emphasized that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities always values ​​and maintains a good, long-term cooperative relationship with many universities in Taiwan. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office is an active bridge in promoting and expanding cooperative relations between Taiwanese universities and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim acknowledged and highly appreciated the idea of ​​establishing a Taiwan education center and stated that both sides need to exchange more specific and official documents soon.

At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to hold direct discussions and reach formal cooperation agreements soon.
