Meeting with representatives from the German Research Foundation.

On February 25, 2014, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh - Vice Rector of the University, along with Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Faculty of History, met and worked with representatives of the German Foundation for Research (DFG), led by Dr. Ingrid Kruessmann - Director of the International Relations Department for East Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia.

The purpose of this visit to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is to introduce the Foundation, hoping that more faculty members of the University will learn about the Foundation's activities and submit applications to participate in research projects in the coming years. Currently, the DFG Foundation is also working closely with the National Science and Technology Development Fund (Nafosted) to fund basic scientific research projects in both natural and social sciences.

During the meeting, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh introduced the main achievements in training, scientific research, and the main research directions of the University; emphasizing the goal of building a research university, strengthening research projects, especially international publications... The Vice Rector expressed his hope that the DFG Foundation and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities could cooperate in conducting international research.

Dr. Ingrid Kruessmann stated: "The relationship between the Nafosted Foundation and the DFG Foundation is opening up many new development opportunities. Both sides are ready to welcome and fund outstanding scientific research proposals from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities."

It is known that in 2013, the DFG Foundation sponsored the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Giessen (Germany) to co-organize an international conference on the topic "Population, Health and Medicine in Developing Countries: The Case of Vietnam from the 18th Century to the Present," with the participation of 8 scientists from Germany and France.
