Towards the 40th anniversary of Vietnam - France relations

On January 14, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) worked with Mr. Jean - Noël Poirier (Ambassador of the French Republic to Vietnam). Also attending the meeting were representatives of the Department of Psychology, the Department of Archival and Office Management, and the Department of Tourism.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh briefly introduced the outstanding achievements in the cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and French partners: The University has established official cooperation relations with many famous French universities such as Toulouse II - Le Mirail University, Paris 7 University, Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne University, Marseille Aix-en-provence University...; is an active member of the Francophone University Organization (AUF).

The school has been implementing many joint training programs in French such as: bilingual undergraduate training in Clinical Psychology, Master of Child and Adolescent Developmental Psychology, Master of Public Policy and Business Management, Master of Hotel Management, Master of Technology and Employment Systems. The products of these training programs are well received and highly appreciated by society.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh emphasized: The relationship between France and Vietnam is a special relationship in history, having a great influence on the development of science and education in Vietnam. The school especially values ​​the cooperative relationship with French universities, and it is one of the most effective international cooperation activities of the school in particular and in the network of Vietnamese universities cooperating with France in general.

In the coming time, the School proposes that the French Embassy support and advocate the opening of more joint training programs with French universities such as: Master of Social Psychology, Labor, Career and Environment, Master of Archival Studies...; organize many international scientific conferences with the participation of Vietnamese and French scientists in 2014; promote student and lecturer exchanges.

Ambassador Jean-Noël Poirier highly appreciated the richness of cooperation activities between the University and French partners as well as the effectiveness of existing joint training programs. He also believed that the development of social sciences and humanities is important in the cooperation and exchange between the two countries, thus supporting cooperation activities in this field. 2014 will be the 40th anniversary of the official relations between Vietnam and the French Republic, therefore, the Ambassador asked the University to contribute ideas on organizing commemorative activities with the coordination of the two sides.

At the meeting, the Ambassador and the Rector agreed to continue maintaining and promoting existing cooperation activities between the University and French universities and organizations as sustainable communication partnerships; and initially proposed cooperation between the two sides in 2014 such as: organizing seminars on global climate change, the development of Vietnamese social sciences and humanities, seminars and exhibitions on the development history and role of the French School of the Far East in Vietnam...
