At the meeting, Prof. Chung-Sok Suh provided information related to the international conference on Korean Studies in Southeast Asia to be held at the University of Malaya Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) in September 2014. The conference will present the latest research results on Korean Studies, orient and promote Korean Studies education and research activities in Southeast Asia, aiming to build a Korean Studies network in Asia. Prof. Chung-Sok Suh invited Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh and Vietnamese scientists to attend and write a report for the conference.
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh said: The school wishes to expand cooperative relationships with Korean universities, funds and organizations, not only aiming to build and develop Korean studies in Vietnam, but also wanting to learn from the development experience of Korean universities in the current context of international integration. The Rector also proposed to coordinate with Korean partners to organize a workshop on university governance innovation - experiences from Korea and internationally, especially the experience of building a team of staff with international qualifications.
The leaders of the two sides agreed to increase information and connections between universities that conduct research on Korean studies, seek scholarships and funding sources for research activities, and exchange of lecturers and students between Vietnam and Korea.
