First session of the 10th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities

Attending the congress were Mr. Truong Ngoc Kiem (Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, Secretary of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Youth Union), Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang (Deputy Secretary of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Youth Union), Professor Pham Quang Minh (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); representatives from other units, and nearly 200 members of the University's Youth Union.

At the beginning of the congress, the presidium presented the review report of the School Youth Union Executive Committee for the 2017-2019 term and the proposal for the formation of the new Executive Committee for the 2019-2022 term.

Comrade Tran Duc Hoa (Deputy Secretary of the School Youth Union, 9th term) on behalf of the Presidium presented the review report of the School Youth Union Executive Committee for the 2017-2018 term.9

During the 2017-2019 term, despite some limitations, the Youth Union and youth movement at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities achieved many outstanding results, basically fulfilling the set targets and tasks. The movements and activities were implemented extensively and comprehensively with more diverse forms and content, leaving a deep impression and having a wide-ranging impact. Youth Union activities were implemented systematically and formally, with many new features; the activities were vibrant, practical, in-depth, and long-lasting, leveraging professional strengths. The work of educating Youth Union members and students on revolutionary ideals, with its rich content and forms, contributed to shaping values, educating on traditions, ethics, and revolutionary ideals for Youth Union members and young people.

The university's Youth Union has also gradually reformed its leadership, focusing on consolidating and building the Youth Union organization, effectively promoting its core political role in building the Student Union; expanding exchange and cooperation activities. At the same time, it focuses on caring for and supporting Youth Union members and young people in their studies, training, improving their work capacity, as well as in their cultural and spiritual lives. Pressing issues and difficulties in social life and youth work are gradually being addressed and resolved, such as: the employment of students after graduation, legal education, and value orientation among young people...

However, there are still some limitations, such as the lack of systematic political and moral education, and awareness of law compliance; the implementation of activities supporting learning and scientific research has not met practical requirements and the needs of union members; branch activities are still difficult and not adequately ensured due to students' learning conditions and the unit's facilities...

Following the presentation of the report, the congress proceeded to vote for the Vote Counting Committee to oversee the election process.

Comrade Tran Bach Hieu (Secretary of the School's Youth Union, 9th term) cast the first vote on behalf of the delegates.

At the end of the first session, the congress elected 21 comrades to the list of the School Youth Union Executive Committee for the 2019-2022 term.
