The first session of the 10th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities

Attending the congress were Mr. Truong Ngoc Kiem (Member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of the Youth Union of VNU), Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang (Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of VNU), Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); representatives of the units of the other side and nearly 200 members of the University's Youth Union.

At the opening of the congress, the presidium presented the review report of the School Youth Union Executive Committee for the 2017-2019 term and the project to build the new Executive Committee for the 2019-2022 term.

During the 2017-2019 term, despite some limitations, the Union and youth movement of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had many outstanding achievements, basically completing the set targets and tasks. Movements and activities were deployed deeply and widely with many forms, richer and more diverse content, leaving a deep impression and spreading widely. Union activities were deployed methodically and regularly, with many new points; the activities took place enthusiastically, were practical, in-depth and long-term, promoting professional strengths. The work of educating revolutionary ideals for union members and students with rich content and forms has contributed to orienting values, educating traditions, ethics, and revolutionary ideals for union members and youth.

The school's Youth Union has also gradually innovated its leadership, focused on consolidating and building the Youth Union organization, promoting its core political role in building the Student Union organization; expanding exchange and cooperation activities. At the same time, it focuses on caring for and supporting union members and young people in studying, training, improving their working capacity as well as in cultural and spiritual life. Urgent issues and difficulties in social life and youth work are gradually being addressed and resolved, such as: employment issues for students after graduation, legal education, and value orientation in youth...

However, there are still some limitations such as the work of propagating political education, ethics, lifestyle, and awareness of law compliance is not systematic; the implementation of activities to support learning and scientific research has not met the practical requirements and needs of union members; union activities are still difficult and not guaranteed due to the learning conditions of students and the facilities of the unit...

After the presentation of the report, the congress voted to elect a Counting Committee to conduct the election.

Comrade Tran Bach Hieu (Secretary of the IX School Youth Union) represented the delegates to cast the first vote.

At the end of the first session, the congress elected 21 comrades in the list of the School Youth Union Executive Committee for the 2019-2022 term.
