Congress to establish the Journalists' Association of Social Sciences and Humanities

Attending the congress were representatives of the Vietnam Journalists Association, representatives of the Board of Directors, leaders of departments, faculties and divisions of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, close collaborators and a large number of distinguished guests.

Professor Pham Quang Minh delivered the opening speech at the Congress.

Opening the congress, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities) welcomed the delegates and distinguished guests who had taken the time to attend the congress; and announced the congress program in accordance with the regulations of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Viet Nghia (Head of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities Department) presented the report on the verification of membership eligibility.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh (Head of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities) presented the Summary Report and the direction and tasks for the 2019-2022 term.

Following that, the delegates and distinguished guests attending the congress enthusiastically contributed valuable ideas to build and develop the Branch Association in general and the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities in particular.

During the election phase, the General Assembly elected the Branch Secretariat, consisting of: Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh as Secretary, Mr. Tran Xuan Hung as Deputy Secretary, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen as Member.

Professor Pham Quang Minh, on behalf of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities Journals Association, thanked the delegates and distinguished guests for attending the congress and contributing ideas to the development of the Association and the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities in the future. Professor Pham Quang Minh pledged to strive to shorten the time needed to develop the journal into an internationally reputable publication, belonging to the high-impact journals listed in the ISI and SCOPUS databases.

Professor Pham Quang Minh, on behalf of the Journal, received congratulatory flowers from the Department of Japanese Studies (Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities).

The magazine received congratulatory flowers from the Vietnam Journalists Association.

The Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (website:://journal.ussh.vnu.edu.vn) is the official scientific publication of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, operating under license number 155/GP-BTTTT dated May 11, 2015, issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications. Its International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) is 2354-1172. The journal's mission is defined as "a forum for academic exchange, introducing new and high-quality scientific research results in social sciences and humanities both domestically and internationally, serving the cause of national construction and development in the context of integration and globalization." The journal's Editorial Board consists of 37 scholars, including 6 foreign scholars. Each year, the journal publishes 4 issues in Vietnamese and 2 issues in English.
