This morning, October 19, 2010, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the Chung-Soo Scholarship Award Ceremony for students with outstanding academic achievements, student union officials with good academic performance, and students who overcame difficulties to excel in their studies.Eighty scholarships were awarded to 40 K52 students and 40 K53 students from various faculties. Each scholarship was worth 250 USD. Attending the ceremony and awarding the scholarships were Mr. Park Suk Hwan (Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam), Mr. Paik Nak Whan (former Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam), and Mr. Choi Phillip (Chairman of the Chung-Soo Foundation). On behalf of the university leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu (Vice Rector) expressed gratitude to the Ambassador, the Korean international education cooperation organizations, and the Chung-Soo Scholarship Foundation for providing opportunities and scholarships to the university's students. He also hoped for continued support from the Foundation for the university's students. Mr. Park Suk Hwan hoped that the scholarship fund would contribute to supporting and creating better learning conditions for the students. The Ambassador expressed his hope that the scholarship recipients would make significant contributions, serving as a bridge for the increasingly strong and sustainable development of Vietnam-Korea relations.

This is the fourth year that students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have received scholarships from the Chung-Soo Scholarship Fund. Established in 1962, the Chung-Soo Scholarship Fund aims to nurture talent to serve the socio-economic development of South Korea. In recent years, the fund has expanded its support for human resource development to many countries around the world, especially developing countries, including Vietnam.
