The Ministry of Education and Training announces the recruitment of postgraduate students for training at overseas institutions using state budget funds in 2010 (supplementary round).

1. Number of scholarships

In accordance with the 2010 enrollment plan, the Ministry of Education and Training is recruiting an additional 400 people for doctoral studies and 50 people for internships abroad using state budget funds. The scholarships are primarily used to develop human resources for universities, academies, colleges, national key research institutes and laboratories, high-tech centers, and approximately 10% is allocated to officials of state-funded agencies, enterprises, and socio-political organizations.

2. School hours

Successful applicants who are accepted by foreign institutions will be considered by the Ministry of Education and Training for overseas study according to the admission letter and regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, within the period from the date of the admission decision until December 31, 2011.

3. Eligibility Criteria

3.1.Lecturers and staff on permanent or long-term contracts, with a total contract duration of one year or more, currently working at universities, colleges, research institutes, national key laboratories, high-tech centers, or administrative and public service agencies, enterprises, and socio-political organizations receiving salaries from the State budget;3.2.Graduate students and undergraduate students who graduated in 2009-2010 with excellent academic results (8.0) and a master's thesis/university graduation project score of 8.0 or higher (on a 10-point scale) are eligible to apply. They must commit to returning to Vietnam after graduation to work as lecturers at universities and colleges as directed by the Ministry of Education and Training. Graduates with excellent academic results are only eligible to apply if they have a document from a foreign educational institution agreeing to accept them for direct training in the doctoral program.

4. Fields of study

Priority fields for overseas training include: science and technology; social sciences; economics and management; arts; sports; medicine and pharmacy; agriculture; forestry and fisheries.See details here..
