I'm about to graduate with a degree in tourism business administration and already have a certificate as a domestic tour guide. However, my foreign language skills aren't very good.

I am very passionate about Vietnamese culture and history. What career path should I choose? Where should I start, and what skills and knowledge do I need to acquire? Should I pursue a second degree to complement my chosen profession?

If you're interested in culture and history, what career path should you choose?

- Hello. From your letter, you've studied tourism business administration and have a certificate as a domestic tour guide. I assume you've already set your career goals. However, you're still hesitant about choosing a profession, which is understandable, as choosing a career is always one of the most important decisions a person makes.

To determine the right career for you, first honestly answer the question: which subject or major did you enjoy and become most passionate about throughout your studies? With this answer, you can identify about 70% of your career path.

For the tourism industry, you can check out job postings and choose the one that best suits you. Once you've chosen a career you love, you should establish a multi-stage career path to make it easier to progress.

A passion for Vietnamese culture and history is a strong asset for developing a career in domestic tourism. However, you also need to improve your foreign language skills, perhaps with a second degree (English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc.) or a certificate, to get a head start and advance your career. In addition, you should learn about the culture, history, and people of the region and how to use that foreign language.

When starting a career, everyone worries about their limited experience. But experience doesn't come naturally; it's gained daily through extracurricular activities, school assignments, or part-time jobs. Start with the most basic tasks to hone your skills and knowledge. This way, your future path will be more solid and you'll have greater opportunities for advancement.

I wish you find your own path and succeed with that choice!
