On May 6, 2019, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), along with representatives from the Faculty of International Studies and the Office of Cooperation and Development, received and worked with a delegation from the Irish Embassy in Vietnam led by Ms. Elisa Cavacece (Deputy Ambassador/Head of Development).

During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh introduced Ms. Elisa Cavacece to the project "Capacity Building Cooperation in Key Areas of International Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities," implemented by the University and University College Cork (UCC, Ireland), with funding from the Irish Aid Fund. Among the project's achievements, the most notable is the establishment of the International Development Studies specialization, with its first cohort of students in the 2018-2019 academic year. It is expected that in the next academic year, the University will develop this specialization into an independent bachelor's program.
