At the ceremony, Professor Pham Quang Minh expressed his delight that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had signed a memorandum of understanding with a prestigious Korean university like Global Cyber University. The Rector hoped that many faculty and staff members of the University would benefit from this signing. The Rector also briefly introduced the Faculty of Oriental Studies, one of the leading institutions for Korean studies in Vietnam. The Department of Korean Studies was established shortly after Vietnam and Korea established diplomatic relations in 1992.

On behalf of the Korean side, Professor Ilchi Lee (President of Global Cyber University) expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The positive progress of Vietnam-Korea relations, along with the similarities in history, politics, culture, and society between the two countries, will serve as a foundation for the two universities to promote practical cooperation. Professor Ilchi Lee also expressed his hope that the young students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the future generations, will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors to contribute to the development of their respective countries as well as to the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Korea.
