Signing of Memorandum of Cooperation with Global Cyber University (Korea)

At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh expressed his joy when the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed a memorandum of understanding with a prestigious Korean university like Global Cyber University. The President hopes that many staff and lecturers of the University will benefit from the signing of this memorandum. The President also briefly introduced the Faculty of Oriental Studies, one of the leading addresses for Korean studies in Vietnam. The Faculty's Korean Studies Department was established right after Vietnam and Korea established diplomatic relations in 1992.

On behalf of the host country, Prof. Ilchi Lee (President of Global Cyber University) expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome of the USSH. The positive development of the Vietnam-Korea relationship, along with the similarities in history, politics, culture and society between the two countries, will be the premise for the two schools to promote practical cooperation. Prof. Ilchi Lee also expressed his hope that the young students of the USSH, the future generations, will follow their predecessors to contribute to the development of the country as well as the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Korea.

Established in October 2009, Global Cyber University started with only 3 departments and 6 majors. It is one of 21 universities and colleges specializing in distance learning and online education in Korea. Currently, Global Cyber University has over 3,000 students, including Korean stars such as members of the boy band BTS. The school currently has 10 departments: Social Security, Counseling Psychology, Comprehensive Brain Education, Sports and Health, Brain-Based Emotional Training, Practical English, Convergence Content, Entertainment and Media, Convergence Management, Oriental Studies. There is also the Brain Education University, a graduate school specializing in the brain.
