This is an activity within the development process of the Project to establish a specialized field of Social Work in the period 2010-2015, primarily focusing on training master's and subsequently doctoral students in Social Work.
[img class="caption" src="images/stories/2008/8/21/img_3592.jpg" border="0" alt="Prof. Richard Hugman" title="Prof. Richard Hugman" width="120" height="180" align="left" ]During the two discussion sessions on August 19, 2008, delegates heard presentations on the orientation and development process of the Master's program in Social Work at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; an introduction to the framework of the Master's program in Social Work; and the basic conditions ensuring the operation of the Master's program in Social Work at the university. Following this, representatives from the University of New South Wales Sydney presented experiences in postgraduate training in Social Work in various countries around the world, and Ms. Le Hong Loan from UNICEF Vietnam gave a paper on the role and contributions of UNICEF Vietnam to social work development projects in Vietnam.
From August 20th to 30th, the seminar will be divided into group discussion sessions to further study and discuss the curriculum framework and detailed course outlines. The closing session will take place on the morning of August 30th, 2008 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
