Attending the presentation were lecturers, graduate students, and students of the Department of Han Nom (Faculty of Literature), the Department of Japanese Studies (Faculty of Oriental Studies) and researchers of the Institute of Han Nom Studies (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences).

The class provided students with useful knowledge to help them visualize more clearly and deeply the context of classical Japanese literature in the East Asian cultural space. In particular, Professor Yamabe Susumu spent a lot of time presenting aboutChinese reading(Kanbun Kundoku) of Japan - a unique linguistic solution of ancient Japan: not a way of reading and translating Chinese characters far from the original text but a way of translating each Chinese character, following the Japanese pronunciation and grammar. This is also the first time a Japanese professor has come to Vietnam to teach Chinese reading instruction.
