Religious culture in the context of globalization is the proceedings of the International Conference of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, sponsored by the Federal Institute of Religious Studies of Germany (Missionswissenschaftliches Institut Missio Aachen e. V, abbreviated as MWI), published in 2010. This was the first conference on religious studies held at Hanoi National University. As the first publication of the Center for Contemporary Religious Studies, this Proceedings reflects the Center's efforts to promote religious studies, which have existed in Vietnam since the colonial era but were interrupted during the war years due to various objective and subjective reasons and have only been revived in the last two decades. Although only three years old, some of the Center's programs, such as visiting professors, seminars, and staff training, have gradually become regular. 2011 promises to include a library development program. With over 650 pages, the proceedings select more than 30 articles from Vietnamese and foreign scholars, covering two main areas: Fundamental theoretical issues of religious culture and Some issues of Christian and Buddhist culture. Many articles, such as "Smith, Lonergan and Faith" by Professor [Name], are included. Kim Chae Young (Sogang University, South Korea), “The Confession of Truth and the Confession of Faith in Religion” by Professor Tran Van Doan (National Taiwan University), “Religion in the Process of Globalization” by Bishop Phaolo Nguyen Thai Hop, “Catholicism and Globalization” by Father Thien Cam, “Culture and Religion” by Professor Do Quang Hung, “Religious Consciousness and the Theory of Secularization in Asia and Vietnam” by Dr. Nguyen Xuan Nghia, etc… raise many thought-provoking issues that help us scientifically assess the relationship between culture and religion, as well as specific cultural and religious fields in the context of current globalization. All articles have summaries in English, and some articles are published in full in both Vietnamese and English for the convenience of readers both in Vietnam and abroad.
